When there was a change of status right at the end of the season to "maybe we'll get him back, the knee is feeling much better all of a sudden," I immediately thought that was them setting him up to go full on in pre-draft workouts. Never once did I consider he might play for UK again.

I couldn’t give two ***** about this loser, he quit his teammates and left the program hanging. He and his dad weren’t happy with how MP was employing him and that he was underperforming so he outright chose to sat out. Never care to hear about him again, good riddance.

He used Pope like a receptacle…

This is sickening. And if the rumors can be believed, any attempts to add wording to a contract to protect against this kind of thing won't get you far. I don't know what can be done unless all schools agree to stand together.

Bunch of bennys didn't predict this. He's worse than shedeon sharpe situation by far Imo. He just gets a pass because it happened under our good ol can't do wrong Pope.

Quit bullying Pope quit calling him bad names. He's a good dude even if he embarrasses us nationally damn near every day

We all know he could have played but we all know why he didn’t. His play would do nothing but show it will not translate to the NBA. Let’s just start calling pope the fiddle. He’s so easily played.

I’ll say it and won’t feel a bit bad for it… when he eventually blows out another knee I’ll laugh.

My son had the same injury and they had to make a new ACL out of one of his other ligaments. He was practicing no contact 4 months after surgery and given clear no restrictions 6 months to the day of the surgery. Now I know some have said “Your son plays football, it’s different, blah, blah, blah “. That’s true, but he never came off the field, he played offense, defense, and special teams. But you know what? He was getting tackled, tackling people and getting blocked, all of which JQ didn’t face. My son is a linebacker, he may not weigh as much as JQ, but he’s much more compact, probably weighs more per square inch or however you want to compare. My son had swelling too but he never sat out. Swelling is going to happen for the rest of his life. Also, 7 months after surgery he was playing summer basketball and going to football practice both. Some would say that JQ had too much to risk financially, but my son did it for free. I say my son had more to risk because JQ still got $2mill , which is more than my son will ever make. I just don’t have much sympathy for him I guess.

Oral Roberts is alive and well. This is why he should have never been signed because it a take a a year to heal from ACL surgery. Pope is absolutely incapable of handling a program the magnitude of UK. He is literally worse than BCG.
I know you love to attack Pope, but you're fooling no one. JQ wasn't healing all this time, and now he's all better. The fuc-ker only wanted to play just enough to convince scouts that he was draftable, and no more. Pope's fault in this is that he didn't publicly call the kid out and tell him to piss or get off the pot. It likely would have resulted in JQ leaving the team and removing the uncetainty that other players were having with him, but by doing so Pope would have made an enormous statement to the game of basketball that you cheaters and quitters aren't welcome. Other than that, Pope has nothing to do with JQ's shenanigans.

Just like every other recruit to come thru here. I’m convinced the guys on that first team were just good people. Most of the other ones have been here only for money and to use him. It’s sad honestly.
