UL continuously raids smaller programs. It's their recruiting model, if Cal did the same there would be 10 articles about how he's ruining college basketball and an outside the lines special. I guess you don't get questioned when you're an above reproach model program like University 6.

Nobody comments on Grad transfers anymore. Just wait until anyone can transfer without sitting out. Cal should have went after him.

Still only a borderline top 25 team, and the chances of them not being banned from the tourney next year are slim to none.

If we are losing 5 guys to the NBA and will have no front court, why are we standing around letting everyone else feast off grad transfers? Duke and UofL landed good ones today.

Hard for Cal to promise anyone a spot right now with guys still making their decisions.

Color me unimpressed. He racked up numbers playing no one in a no one conference. I'll believe he's good enough for this level when I see it.

I’ve never really understood why UK doesn’t push more for quality grad transfers. Could mix well with some of those talented freshmen you always have come in. I know Sestina was one and there have probably been others, but just doesn’t seem as common in Lex.

Kid can play against mid majors........ we'll see if he can do it against power schools.

Being from Cincinnati I am very familiar with Carlik and his game. He is a 6'0 scoring point guard, he is very competitive and is not afraid to take the big shot., However he is probably only slightly better than Christen Cunningham, but is much better than Fresh Kimble. He would have been a decent backup PG option, but he is not going to lead your team to a Final Four.

Yes, I wonder if Darius Perry had taken his spot at Radford last year if he wouldn't have put up similar numbers. It's a nice move for them though since they are losing Oddo, Perry, and Kimble and won't likely get Scrubb to join either. Was Jones rated as the top grad transfer this offseason?

Pretty hard to get a Grad transfer PG or any other position when they have 1 year to make a splash for NBA aspirations and Kentucky having 5 star talent already on the roster at their position.

On paper, Carlik Jones looks quite a bit better than either Cunningham or Kimble. That said, Kimble averaged 16 points per game at St. Joe’s (against MUCH better competition than Carlik Jones faced at Radford) and then went on to average 5 points per game in the ACC. 16 to 5. There’s no way around it: strength of schedule matters.

Rothstein only moved them up to 20 in his preseason rankings. That's after this guy committed, and he includes Scrubb on the roster. Their bench is gonna be garbage, with very little depth on the inside. Garlic will have to play the 2 spot. He's only 6'0. Good luck with that now that he has to play in a big boy league.
