tbh I don't really care about 'gangsta' on the surface, never have. But the feel/authenticity that comes through in the music is undeniable. Weird for a normal white man, but it's true. So, maybe I do care subconsciously, idk?
I'm a beats guy above all, and The whole 'sound' is most important to me, but I suppose every ingredient counts -- I mean, Tyga has good beats too...but it just doesn't work. He's a fraud & a clown. You have to be authentic and able to be taken seriously.
If you *really* think about it, success in hip hop is a very complex and difficult thing to accomplish, overall.
