Most if not all the top ten NJ football recruits over the past four years have probably attended one or more Rutgers games. Yet ZERO have committed to the program. Attending a game does not mean very much, unfortunately.

LOL you just made the same mistake a previous poster made. Making one visit is one thing......making multiple visits over the course of years is TOTALLY different. And again this thread wasn't about how Flood hasn't been able to close on any of the Top 10 type of NJ recruits (yet). This thread was about how one poster wasn't happy we were having Gary to the game because he thought he was using us.... and I had the other opinion that I think he has genuine interest and even if he doesn't end up picking us there are a lot of benefits for Rutgers by having the #1 recruit in the country deciding to constantly come back and visit Rutgers.

This is KEY because as I said before, visiting one time is one thing, but for Gary to choose to put the effort in to return to Rutgers over and over despite knowing the ins and outs of the program by now, shows that he truly enjoys the people and the atmosphere of Rutgers and shows other elite recruits that there is something special at Rutgers.

Your posts are lengthy and confusing. Are you predicting Gary comes to Rutgers ? yes or no ?

It's not uncommon for a Women to go on dates with a men they has limited interest in. A night of free food and entertainment; why not right? You can be 100% sure this is what Mr. Gary is doing..

Yeah, but I would also conclude Rutgers is not in the mix. Being "in the mix" means he is considering Rutgers and I don't think so either. I don't understand the indignation for a poster who is stating the most likely outcome.

You are slightly confused on the situation. The indignation towards the poster was NOT for his opinion that Gary is going to choose another school. The indignation was for his opinion that Gary is just using Rutgers for hometown attention and how we shouldn't be paying for him to attend.

This is absurd and DEFINITELY A SUPER TINY MINORITY with this opinion because the other 99% of fans welcome Gary with open arms! The whole "using Rutgers" theory also

LOL are you serious or are you joking around? If you are being serious, then my answer is OF COURSE I am not predicting if Gary is coming to Rutgers because as I stated, THAT ISN'T THE POINT OF THE THREAD!

Let me try to explain the point of this thread.....initially posters were talking in a negative way about how Gary is visiting for the game today. They were saying that they think that he is pretending to have interest in Rutgers in order to get wined and dined.

I then said "Wow talk about unnessecary negativity. Rashan Gary is the number 1 recruit in the country and constantly being talked about as "in the mix" when recruiters talk about his recruitment. That alone is worth the money we "pay" for him to attend our games. Rutgers is associated with the #1 recruit in the country! That is called positive press. Learn the game guys... it is a positive for both parties involved."

Then a poster said that he didn't believe that Rutgers was "in the mix" and I explained that in almost every article you read about his recruiting, Rutgers is mentioned in it so that would mean we are in the mix.

More importantly, he has made a BUNCH of visits to Rutgers already since the 8th grade so he obviously knows all the ins and outs of the program so for him to choose to put the effort into coming tonight is a positive for us because it shows other recruits that he sees something really cool and special about Rutgers and the people and atmosphere because he has been here so many times and yet he still chooses to come back again.

And now the conversation is at a point where we are now...

I don't know why you seem to be focused on this, but if you want my opinion, no I don't think that Gary is going to choose Rutgers. But in my opinion Rutgers is definitely in the mix and I would guess that if he gave a top 5 we would be in it. But obviously that is just my guess/opinion based on what I have read and seen.

In general this statement isn't directed at any specific poster... you would think it would just be obvious that it is a HUGE POSITIVE having the #1 recruit attending your most exciting annual game "event" (the BLACKOUT). But somehow some posters always just look for the negative. This thread should have just been a bunch of fans being pumped for Gary being at the game and hoping for an upset.

I hope he sends a tweet saying, "What a feeling here at HPS tonight." That will tell me we are still in the running.

1) Show him what RU primetime can look like tonight.

2) Then, bring in a coach that can sell him on that dream.
