See above post. South Point does not have a mascot. If you want to help Native Americans find something worthwhile to oppose. Things like poverty, drug abuse, alcoholism. These things really matter to Native Americans not sports teams logos.

I’m not sure what happened. The meeting was mentioned on Fox 46 that morning before I left for work. There was no media coverage at all of the meeting to my knowledge. I’m not sure it was as well advertised as it could have been

Farm Life in Vanceboro used to be Red Raiders before it was closed to merge with other schools to form West Craven. I’ve always wondered what would happen now if it still existed.
As a side note, Texas Tech uses Red Raiders as a Zorro type character.

What would have happen if Farm Life had kept the Red Raider logo? That would depend on the political makeup of the area. That would have depended on whether or not people from the area cared one way or the other.

South Point may be forced to change some time. If that happens, that’s why it will happen, because the school and the community were FORCED. GO BIG RED!!!
