You have to feel sorry for Ashcraft. A routine fly ball is lost in the clouds by Meyers in rf and the batter goes to 3rd and then scores on a passed ball by Stephenson. Little league stuff.

Big clutch double by Steer.
It's exciting to think about the potential of this lineup with Steer playing at a high level, add in the success of Friedl, India, Fraley then Stephenson looking better too. Add in the Big 3 of Louisville at some point, what are they waiting for?

5 errors essentially. I realize not all are actual errors but Steer, Fraley, Myers, Stephenson (PB) and Ashcraft himself made mistakes. His pitching deserved a much better fate no doubt.

Jim Day said Lodolo will not start tomorrow. Levi Stoudt missing his start. Looks like he will be back. Felt something was up with Lodolo. Way too good of a pitcher than his recent struggles indicate. Hope all is well, nothing serious.

Will be missing Cessa even more now. It is important to have a pitcher like him in the bullpen stretched out and shows what we've all been saying about skipping starts because of injuries. While you may say it's still early to be worried about skipping starts, have to remember he was on the IL 3 starts into last season. 1st 3 starts of this year were great, spiraled downward in the last 4.

I've heard Welsh allude to players getting complacent in the minors not getting anywhere. At some point have to wonder when that starts setting in. Making AAA baseball look like child's play on a nightly basis. EDLC may not have gotten a hit but still makes an impact with his hustle on the base paths.

Seems I recall some mention a few days ago of Lodolo having a calf muscle strain.

Marlins were a .500 team coming into the series. Reds take the series with a 6-5 win. Bell went with Law in another opener start for 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Stoudt looked much improved with 1 run in 3 innings therefore I see no reason to send him back to Louisville. Build for the future and let him work through things at the MLB Level for a few starts at least. Preferably more. Fraley continues to rake with a 3-run home run, RBI single and double. Ramos finding his rhythm again 2 hits, RBI double. Steer with an incredible catch showing his range at 1B going down the RF line. He's holding down the fort there and leaves open room for CES to DH or even play 3B to help this team now or go with McLain at SS, EDLC at 3B whatever. Just get them up here. Diaz 9th save, tied for 3rd in MLB. Got out of a bases loaded jam. Myers another gaffe slipping in RF in the bottom of the 9th inning giving up a crucial run. Need to reinstate kangaroo court for him.

Fraley's trying real hard to nail down that run producer role for this team.

Wonder if they still have kangaroo court?

Damn Newman is a terrible ss.
True yet they set up Barrero to fail by the way they're playing him. Play a day, sit a day. Play a day, sit 2 days, play 2 days and sit three. How does a guy get any rhythm at the plate? If this is how they're going to do MM might as well leave him in AAA.

Step one hopefully. Can't bring them all up at once. Well they could but Louisville would be depleted. Hopefully he's here to stay. With all the pitching upheaval, I have to think Abbot will be up soon. may keep him down until Lodolo's rotation spot comes back around, maybe let him get one more AAA start under his belt. I know, wishful thinking.

Looks like it is going to be Brandon Williamson. With the team on the taxi squad. Barrero to CF now? Hope he gets an extended run there with Friedl out and frankly wouldn't mind to see what he could do in RF at some point.

The way they're jerking around Barrero is shameful, at least send him down where he can get more than 2-3 ABs a week. Clearly not in Reds long term plans.

McLain is a little dude. Fraley is 6' even and was towering over him. Not that I care in baseball if he can rake.

Hunter Greene another unimpressive start. Not exactly earning that big money yet.

Reds pitching staff is a mess and will further be exposed as better teams show up on the schedule. That combined with a line up of singles hitters, ugh.

Lodolo has been nothing short of horrible. Greene has yet to get past the 6th inning and his pitch count in relation to IP is terrible....he has to learn to "pitch" and realize that strikeouts are not the only way to get a hitter to go back the dugout.

Lodolo out for a while, and Greene still has no clue what to do. He hasn't been past the 6th inning since June of last year....hilarious.
