I don't pay too much attention to the NET, it is really not about the best at large teams, it is about the best situation for trying to be fair to as many schools across the CBB landscape.
At the end of the day, there is a formula that is consistent and while RU fans may not want to agree with all of it, this staff has threaded the needle 4 straight years with timely transfer additions, shedding the image of a dormant, losing program and established itself as a credible program in a difficult B1G landscape.
The staff was able to develop players AND win enough games 4 years in a row.......and the better the recruiting becomes, the more credibility we gather on a regional or national scale.
We have to stay the course and celebrate this day as a major accomplishment. Despite what some fans here think, four straight NCAA caliber teams in a row, matters. Anyone saying otherwise, is truly just hating to be a hater.
Does Arkansas.....West Virginia.....Providence......St Marys.....even teams with weak resumes like North Carolina and Michigan get the benefit of the doubt?? Yeah, the more you dance, the more leeway you're going to earn. RU is now arrived at that stage.
Let the brackets and matchups be the focus, Selection Sunday was a sincere hope for a lot of us 5 to 7 years ago as "one day, we'll have a Northwestern 2017 type of season", to today where we are discussing seeding, locations for travel, potential matchups etc.
Other than the 1st true Saturday of the College Football season, Selection Sunday is probably the best sports day of the entire calendar year. Enjoy the Sunday folks!!!
