The three punt return TDs tied a state record set by Vishone Kennion of East Duplin against Richlands on October 10, 1997.
Most dazzling Reidsville kick return performance since the days of Lyshod Graves during the Rams' undefeated run from 2007 to 2009. Seems like Lyshod made a TD return almost every week. The third one by Austyn tonight was incredible as he emerged from a full pack of Panthers near midfield to zip into the end zone.
We need to figure something about this schedule. The guilford county portion is fine, but maybe we can make a deal to get rid of one of the county teams. Western Alamance did it with Graham.

And, oh by the way, Austyn Chestnut also had a 31-yard interception return. He should be NCHSAA player of the week -- I'll nominate him for sure.
Some stats: despite the score, Reidsville didn't pile up a lot of offensive numbers tonight. Only 91 yards rushing and 72 passing. Reserve Travion Canada was leading rusher with 43 yards on 6 carries. Rams were just 7 of 16 passing and had a couple of drops and some overthrows. Something to work on for sure.
But the 154 yards on punt returns and two blocked punts deep in Morehead territory didn't give the offense much real estate to work with. Short fields = lean stats.
Defense, obviously, looked good. Total team effort with some hard hitting. Brandon Lee, Trell Rankin and David Lawson each had six tackles and Isaac Hill had five. 21 different players credited with tackles.
Reidsville outscored the three county foes 164-3. Might be the largest combined margin ever. It was only 105-43 last year.

Disagree. He had us beating South Point by 32. We had a td in the closing minutes negated by a penalty and we missed two extra points. Put those on the board and the score would have been 33-0. I was amazed....thought his prediction would have been way off but he was almost dead on.
What does this have to do with the Reidsville/Morehead game?
Simmons had Reidsville favored by 32 and they won by 63.
You commented on Simmons computer picks saying they were off.
He picked last years 2A state champion to beat last years 3A state champion runner up by 32. We thought no way do we win by that much. He was almost dead on. Its hard to place a value on a team as weak as Morehead. Maybe when y'all play a quality opponent, his prediction for you will be a little more accurate.
When we move to our new conference next year two of the schools wont have a football team, so maybe when can schedule two good 3a teams or one good 3a team and one average 4a team in their place.
Again, I am writing about Simmons Reidsville predictions this year. He hasn't been within 30 points of the actual score this year.
Not even close on the McMichael, Rockingham, or Morehead games.
And I will predict he will not even be close on the Reidsville vs. HP Andrews game this week.
