Reidsville and Shelby since 2000

Thought it was time to prod "72"...so in this down time I did some research since the 2000 season and found out how great these two programs really are

in that time span:

Shelby is 210 wins 55 losses (winning pctg of 79.4) with SIX state titles and TWO runner-up

Reidsville is 216 wins 37 losses (winning pctg. of 85.3) with SIX state titles and ONE runner-up..

We will await "72's" response to tell us how pitiful the Rams are in comparison to the Golden Lions.

We try to tell them that both are great programs. You have to give credit were credit is due. We never knock Shelby for their accomplishments. They have proven themselves to be a top notched program. We have proven it likewise. May both teams have a very successful injury free playoff run!!!

Surely you realize that only Champ 98/72/XX is allowed to choose time frames for measuring any football program against his Golden Lions, greatest team in the history of the world.:)

Early 2000's to mid 2000's reidsville schedule used to be pretty tough. Thomasville, cummings, gw danville qn western alamance. It's also times reidsville schedule is underrated. You guys just aren't familiar with who we play.

The truth be told, after you get past the 1st or 2nd teams in almost every conference, the rest of the teams are not that good including this conference. After SP and Shelby this is it.
East Rutherford 2-2; 6-4
R-S Central 1-3; 3-7
East Gaston 1-3; 2-8
Chase 0-4; 1-9
I really don't see what people are crying about. Look at all of the conferences and you will see this trend to be similar. EVERY YEAR!!!

One stat among the posters of both programs this season, Reidsville posters have started every last one of the tiresome Shelby vs Reidsville threads, 72 Champion has started none, maybe one, tops, but I don’t recall any. He’s just been reactionary to Reidsville posters starting these tiresome threads and posts singling him out.

Bruh, your fellow posters went hard this year, though. 72 tried to turn over a new leaf, and your guys pulled him back in. Pretty soon, we’re going to see threads like, “Reidsville and Shelby, Who Has the Best Golden Helmet?” The Mule is somewhere on a toilet, right now, pondering another Shelby vs Reidsville thread.

So, here we go....why pick the year 2000?

Lets say 1971 to present....that is 45 years instead of just 16.

Shelby has 13 state titles and 6 runner ups in that span or a 42% chance of making the title game.

Reidsville has...hmm...this is interesting. It appears they have the same number you mentioned above in the last 16 years....just 6 state titles and 1 runner up. So you mean to tell me they had no titles or appearances for 3 straight decades...from 1971 to 2001. That is only a 15% chance of making the title game. Wow. Reidsville has been great for the last 16 years and before facemasks were worn but in between...3 straight decades of being absent from championship play. Well....

We just ended it.

Thanks 72, that just shows that Reidsville didn't need facemarks to be the best. Now them were some tuff guys back in the day!
Colorful nicknames too: "One-man gang tackle" is my favorite.

You gotta love N.C. schoolboy football history.

Wow ... what an internet rivalry for the internet fans (not that many) ... hopefully the teams are focused on Belmont and Biscoe and not this authentic football website gibberish.

194 wins & 50 losses. (80%)
THREE state titles and ONE runner-up

With that said, I love football history and have extreme respect for both programs and their tradition. Shelby has the better history over the last half century, Reidsville is better overall all time, IMO.

Your own poster just embarrassed your program by trying to toot his horn. Yeah you guys were good in the 2000s. So far you have only won 1 in this decade. You had a 6 year absence from 09-16. But more importantly you were completely absent for THREE straight recent decades. That is just terrible. No ifs, ands, or buts. Facts are facts. Were you guys on the boards in 2000? I am going to go with no. Because you hadn't sniffed a championship game in 30 years.

Looks like most of you joined in '01, '02 and mule in '03. Hmmm...wonder why then? Maybe you caught wind that the 30 year drought could be coming to an end. Maybe you moved down to 2A and thought something could happen. No, I got it....subdivided playoffs came about! Considering Reidsville has never won a unified state title where there was no rival association or subdivided class...I guess you felt like it was your time again?

Does this mean that Reidsville is the "TRUE" Dynasty in NC High School Football? I mean WOW, I didn't think any team had outplayed Shelby in the 2000's.

Hail Reidsville! Long live the King!

Well, at least until the NCHSAA deems that any TD longer than 25 yards scored against Shelby is void and no longer counts.

The goal posts have been moved yet again. Henceforth, according to rules established by that self proclaimed expert, Champ 98/72/XX, all records prior to 2010 are to be totally disregarded (except for achievements by Shelby football of course) and only those championships or other achievements of teams beginning this decade are to be considered worthy of consideration.

Punishment for failure to observe these proprieties will result in instant condemnation and public ridicule.

The NCHSAA is being notified of the new rules so they may correct their records accordingly.
