Is Cummings on their way back or is Reidsville still working out kinks? Or is it because it's a 'rivalry' game that it was so close?

Dropped a couple of big passes. Stopped on the one on last play of the 1st half. Great throw and catch. Still too many penalties. Defense came up big. Huge 4th and one stop late in 4th deep in our territory.

Other than shutout loss to 8-0 Eastern Alamance back in August, this was first time all year Cummings was held to single digits scoring. So maybe Ram defense is improving. 380 total yards not a bad offensive night ... just need to get into the end zone more. Still too many dropped balls and penalties. Better concentration would help both of those issues.

I told everyone it will be a dog fight, at this point we have to survive and move on, but if we don't have a better showing on offense against below average 2A teams the 2nd round is as far as we're going to go. #3 is the key to the offense and putting some points on the board. If he can stay healthy he has to get the ball 15 - 20 times a game He's running ability will open up everything else. I'm sorry but I'm just not impressed at all at this point. My son play so my views aren't bias.

This is a very young team forced to play even younger by early-season injuries. Continued improvement is the focus at this point. Quick check of standings: Reidsville 2-0 ... everybody else with at least one loss.

If you will give me the season numbers on the QBs ( pass attempts, completions, TDs, ints) I will calculate the QB efficiency rating for the two "good" QBs for the Rams.

Mule, just accept the fact that Coach Teague wants to give both QBs playing time.
Here's the stats for the year:
Wilson 48-112-4, 753 yards, 3 TD passes (.429 completion percentage)
Jackson 36-78-7, 373 yards, 4 TD passes (.462 completion percentage)

Better pass receiving performance would have helped both of these stat lines.

I am just a fan. I don't have to accept anything I don't want to accept.
If anyone wants to accept dismal performance then they will get what they deserve.

And I guess lots of high school football coaches are also idiots since they use the same rankings for their QBs performance. Check the ranking for the Shelby QB.

A famous man once said " Its better to remain silent and thought a fool than to open one's mouth and remove all doubts".

Of course, some children gain wisdom with age, and some never do.

Shelby has the best pass receivers in the state 2-A class. They would make many high school quarterbacks look like Brady, even with properly inflated footballs.

So the poor QB ratings are all the fault of the Reidsville receivers??

Not all … but obviously some.
You know the stat I really hate is "targets" which you see in the NFL all the time. Receivers are sometimes judged by the number of targets compared to receptions. The better stat would be dropped passes. Hard to find that stat.

My real point was to compare the two Reidsville QBs. After all, they both throw to the same receivers.

The NCAA and NFL formulas differ based primarily on the weight (how much emphasis) is placed on the various numbers. I know some college coaches who use their own formulas. Regardless of the formula used, it does compare the relative performance of any QBs. Obviously the annual numbers are more important than any single game.

Passes that go though the hands of a "target" and into a defensive player's hands count as an interception on the QB's record. That's wrong.
Somebody, somewhere has that stat.

The majority of people I talk to agree with the mule. He is not bashing the players, more the coaches for not playing the better player. If u can't see who the better qb is you must be blind!
