Just heard from a BY teacher that wide receiver class of 2018 Brandon Lipscomb is transferring to the Rams to play football this year. Congrats to the Rams fans for loading the deck! I`m not hating but they just got a transfer with Tanner Wilson from Southern Alamance..will the mid state 2a just be a one team show?

L O A D E D....Our offense may not be as potent (even though we have the #1 receiver in the state returning who had 26 receiving TDs last year) but it won't matter. With 9 of 11 coming back on defense, no one will be able to score on us! The offensive MVP of the State championship game will be back (as a Junior) and the defensive MVP of the Championship game will be back (as a Junior). Defense wins championships! It's a great time to be a Shelby fan. Looking forward to the 4-peat!

I heard that kid is pretty good.
He`s the smoothness route runner I`ve seen in many years, watching two of his games last year. I think he would`ve been a better fit for our offense tho!! With Wilson as QB, it should be one hell of a year.

Don`t get too cocky my friend, because the Cavs will be in the mix this season..never count B-Town out!!

I have to hear what's going on with the rams from people in the know as far as the turn out for summer practice. But I know we had less than 10 seniors and a bunch of injuries last year. If everyone comes out like they should we should be in the mix, last year was just a mix of being young and injuries.

Not being cocky....just honest. We should be the best 2A and 3A team in the state and possibly one of the best 4A. It's a great time to be a Shelby Lion! Hopefully we'll join the ranks of the UCONN women's basketball team.

Monroe would give Shelby a run for their money. Seen both teams play. Even match

I seen Shelby vs Carver. Carver coaching hurt them and alot of inexcusable mental errors did them along with Shelby playing lights out. I would pay $20 to see Monroe D vs. Shelby O. No another school in 2a was even close imo, not Reidsville, HP Andrews, etc, well maybe a healthy East Lincoln but Shelby and Monroe were by far the best

I heard about some transfers? Any truth to that, and is that by kid coming?

I talked to his uncle last night at the dragstrip..he`s a Ram this fall. His parents has bought a house in Reidsville and his big brother Bradley, that plays at VMI is helping out coaching in the summer.

Referring to Letterlough, I presume? Dang.....that's a huge loss for ER. That kid's a wrecking ball.
Yep that's him. Heard he was going to SWR but then son came home and said he was transferring to Reidsville. Going to be a loss for ER but it is what it is.

Jalen Foster will be returning after missing nearly all of last year with an injury.
He has been timed in the 40 at 4.2 this spring.
Foster and Lipscomb will give the Rams a lethal set of wide receivers this fall.

As good as he is, and I have talked with coaches whose teams played against him, he will have major competition at RB from a Soph named Canaday (spelling may be wrong), who some coaches think will be very special before he finishes his career at Reidsville.
He is also getting major recruiting interest. Would not be surprised to see Rams go with two running backs in split formation this year.

Rams also have some pretty good RBs returning this year. Look for Blackstock to be moved to defensive end.

I don't really like transfers. They're like one and dones in basketball. To me it's a sign your program just ain't as good as you think it is when you need outside help to win. Just my opinion for whatever that's worth. Four of the five championships teams this century had all homegrown talent.

If homegrown ain't good enough then it ain't good enough. Hey mule, heels don't need transfers to win do they?

I don't think we need it. But I'm certainly not against people coming in if they do it legally. I think last years team was a top 10 team if it wasn't for the injuries.

Blackstock a huge question mark at this time. The Spring 7 on 7 game is June 3rd. Gates open at 6.

This group of kids is a lot of looks from lots of schools. Wilson, Johnson, Lee, Jones along with several others. D1, D1AA, Div2 schools have been at Reidsville recently.

So, you are still around, rambbq?
Thought you had dropped off the face of the earth or something.

Lots of position changes may be up for Rams this year.
It will be so refreshing to have players that can actually catch a pass!!!
People will be amazed at how much Tanner Wilson has "improved" since last year once the dropped passes are a thing of the past.

Sad, but some of these kids have no one to learn from. I am sure you are aware of the lack of parental supervision in many instances. And role models can be few and far in-between.

Lots of college coaches lining up to recruit these "transfer superstars", including some I know.
