Is NG going to be good? I see they went 11-2 last year but did they graduate a lot or do they have a lot returning? All four teams seem to have up and down years (looking back at the last 4). I know nothing about these four schools, so please give details if you have them.

According to MaxPreps:
  • School - Records for last 4 years (round of playoffs) - Last four years win percentage
  • NG - 11-2 (3), 4-6 (missed), 4-6 (missed), 9-2 (1) - 0.6363
  • GW - 10-2 (2), 6-5 (1), 3-6 (missed), 9-2 (3) - 0.6512
  • Reagan - 6-5 (1), 4-7 (1), 8-3 (1), 8-3 (1) - 0.5909
  • EG - 6-5 (1), 8-3 (1), 9-5 (4), 7-3 (1) - 0.6522

That is cool seeing Reagan on the schedule. Props to both schools - the Rams are never afraid to take on much larger schools and good on the Raiders for scheduling a game against a smaller school that they could very easily lose to. If I recall, the starting Reagan QB got injured early in the 2024 season and that threw them into some limbo. But not sure if he was a senior or an underclassman and will be back for 2025.?

He’s a junior currently, senior next season

I think that would be the only complaint. But, you would have to rate this schedule as an A for Reidsville, really no complains from me. They didn't get Dudley on the schedule, but the next best thing would be Gw Danville. Rams will need to have a good offseason for that schedule, but I know Dionte and Kendre will like this challenge.

Yea I like the competitiveness of the OOC portion of the schedule for sure. Not sure what the gates will be as opposed to a Dudley game, but the comp will still be good. I wonder how good GW is currently too. Only game I think they could potentially lose is the NG matchup

I disagree with that. Gw is a potential loss as well as Reagan. Should beat Eastern Guilford, although they did work us pretty good in a scrimmage last year. The biggest gate will be the gw game

I forgot about Reagan for a sec there, depending on what all Reidsville returns and whatever the defense looks like, I think it’s a good game at least despite the winner. Idk if Reidsville & Danville have a history but if so the crowd should be fun. Does the Rockingham game bring a good crowd at this point? Never been in person

Yes, Reidsville and gw have a history. They played from around 2002 to 2006. All were good games, its really kind of rivarly. I think Gw took us off the schedule because a loss to us affected their playoffs in virginia, because we are a smaller school. I looked at some of the prior game scores. 2003 was a 25-15 rams win- 2004 was a 15-14 gw win, 2005 was a 35-34 gw win and 2006 was a 36-35 rams win. So all close games, will have a good secondary, the big question mark will be the line backer corps and on offense the runnimg game. This would be my first choice of games to go to if you were planning to go to one.

True about GW and playoffs in Virginia. No real incentive for GW to play from a playoff points perspective. Besides it being competitive, the best thing about a Reidsville/GW game is because they are only 20 miles apart both teams should win at the gate. Baring something unforeseen GW will be good in 2025.

A Reidsville can correct me, but I think Rockingham Co. has only beaten the Rams a couple of times maybe going back years and years? It is hardly a rivalry since the Rams usually grind Rockingham Co. into dust. There are obviously athletes in Rockingham Co. and talent. So I have never understood why Rockingham Co. football can't be better. I know asking them to be similar to Reidsville HS is too much and most no team in NC can match their success. But the Cougars should be better in football than what they have shown over the years.

RC is on record for only beating them twice since the school was founded in 1952. Granted, Reidsville record against every school in the county is very lopsided to say the least. But the RCHS series is the 2nd worst (2-45). The worst is the McMichael (0-35)

Yeah that is correct the different classification based on school enrollment (2A and 4A) plays a part in the playoff points earned. GW also has numerous former NC high school coaches on staff such as Lin Stadler who coached at Reidsville, Rockingham, Morehead as well as former longtime Cummings OC Jay Perdue, former Cummings head coach Steve Johnson who works closely with the program. Agree that the eagles are not short on talent.

Their head coach played at Eastern Alamance I believe.

Reidsville and Danville played for the first time in 1911....they have played each other 38 times.....Reidsville holds the edge in wins with 21..Danville has 15 wins and there have been 2 ties.........2006 was the last time they played...Danville has been reluctant to play Reidsville over the years because Virginia used to have a screwy system where they penalized larger schools for playing smaller schools and really penalized them if they lost to a smaller school..............they used power rating to decide where a school was seeded..........................

Unless it's changed, VA uses a points system. The bigger the school the more points you get. VHSL doesn't count points earned playing a school not in VHSL

You'd be surprised how excited they are for this game. Granted I think Rams fans are as well
I can’t even say it’s that surprising at this point considering the amount of attention Reidsville’s program gets nationally through social media. Their presence is so far out of of NC and the envy has become so strong through Kendre & Dionte that folks wanna beat them BAD.

I’m not a Rville fan either, just something I’ve noticed especially through last season. Everybody that has any base level awareness of the current program in real life or online would love an opportunity to be the one that “humbles them”. That noise was super loud when they lost last year but the only thing that quieted it down was hoop being around the corner.

Virginia does use a point system. Not screwy as suggested. It’s a better system than what NC has. In most classes teams have to earn their way into the playoffs. It might not have always been this way but teams do earn points playing out of state teams. The points earned are based on the size of the school. If R’ville played in Virginia they would likely be 2A. A win over them would carry the same points as if they were in Va. A loss is a loss. No points earned unless it’s “rider” points. A few years ago GW travelled to SC and played Nations Ford. NF is 5A in SC and would be same in Va. GW won game and got 5A points.

Reidsville/GW as a rivalry just makes sense regardless of points. Close proximity, consistently good, great fan bases. I know for a fact the 2 have not shied away from each other. Not playing in recent years has had more to do with scheduling conflicts. The last two realignments NC has screwed around with their start dates and how many games teams can play.

The fact that Reidsville and Dudley cant even get together for a scrimmage is crazy. I know they had a 7v7 practice a few years back but the people want live action!

You do look pretty much like this fella Frank...LOL
