So Bam is being projected around the end of the first round. I bet he ends up going sooner then that. But why not try to come back and improve stock? What is so bad about staying another year to get better?
I could see Briscoe coming back to improve stock. Sophomores that return often improve and move up as they prove they are capable. Think victor oladipo. But freshmen whose projection drops throughout the year generally just fall further the longer they stay. Remember the Harrison's? If Bam can get guaranteed money he should go. It is a life decision. His life.

Oh you guys are way behind. I got it on my Ihologram. I don't have to read it. A newscaster appears and just tells me the breaking news.

My hologirl wears a bikini and dances and does gyrations while she reads me alerts. Best Christmas present ever.

Briscoe will actually have all the playing time in the world.. Him and Green with Alexander off the bench..

I also like the idea of a player like that being around the college game for 3 total years. I think one of the things with officials, is they get to know players. I imagine an official has a much easier time calling fouls on freshman he's never even met... you know, because they are vaginas and all.

It's been reported that Higgins wishes some of our players would stay more than 2 years. :D

Goodness man, get with the times. My AI BOT came in, gave me the news telepathically, fed me dinner and gave one helluva back massage...with happy ending. :)

Would not be shocked if Cal started Briscoe and Green together, but if he did that we would have like 8 guys fighting for minutes at the 4 and 5. Much rather see Diallo at the 2.

Would he actually play PG this year?
Well he's certainly not a "shooting guard". Maybe a scoring guard, but I think his size, ball-handling and penetration abilities could easily be honed into a great assist-generating point guard.

I think Briscoe returns and might start at PG. Keep Diallo and Hump and sign Bamba and it might be enough to compete again in a year without great teams.

I really hope he does, and I wasn't saying that a few weeks ago. We need another guard, and we need some returning experience. Checks both.

This board is reaching crazy levels of obscurity. Come on mods
Typo, or do you know what "obscurity" means? Did you mean "absurdity"?

So, are you forgetting about Diallo, or do you assume he is going to be gone? Unless he just blows the doors off at the combine, he ain't going anywhere.

This is something that worries me with getting Bamba and Knox. No one feels at least a little bad for guys like Washington and Vanderbilt who already won't see much playing time as is..

I worry our frontcourt is too crowded.

Because of that Diallo probably should play the #2, seeing as how our back court is very thin.

Theoretically, he could play the #3.. Briscoe can also run the point..

It worked this year with 3 guards..

Lose Monk and Fox, gain Green and Diallo.. shouldn't be a problem shuffling some around.

80 min between point an SG leaves about 27 minutes per game for a brisco, green, diallo rotation..
IMO we need a SF and a good interior defender/rebounder. Would love to have Bamba...
Unless we fill a few holes i don't see us being a FF team..

Diallo *could* be our SF, right?

Shooting is my only worry for a Final4.

..and how many PF's and Centers do you guys think we need to compete for a Final4??? We were a few bad calls away from a final 4 with Bam, Hump and Gabriel.. two of those guys are coming back..

I have not watched Washington or vanderbilt game!
Do they have the skill to stretch the floor at the 3 and handle the ball shoot 3's ect?

Vanderbilt can rebound very well, looks pretty smooth from the videos. Probably so-so shooter from the collective views of our fanbase.. He can play the SF.. but we really need scoring threats there.

Vanderbilt is a very versatile player at 6'8. He can really rebound the ball and defend. They were saying today that you can see how much he has worked on his jump shot because he did struggle with that his junior year.

Washington should be really good too. He is a very capable outside shooter. I think both could play the 3 spot if we needed that from them.

Do I feel bad for Vanderbilt and Washington if they get less PT if we get Bamba or Knox? No not even a little

From the clips I've seen, and I know you can't put too much stock in that, but it doesn't look like Vanderbilt is going to have any trouble getting PT.

Bam monk and fox all to declare. Briscoe deciding on coming back not sure yet. Just broke it on my phone via cbs.

That's not what the alert said. Come on, now. It said "expected", it didn't say they had declared. It was nothing new, we all "expect" those 3 to go but UK guys never announce it this early. It was CBS just trying to get some clicks, just like the OP for mislabeling the thread title.

1 thing cal has struggled with is getting a good wing who can defend/rebound/shoot.. Hope vanderbilt can fill that spot..
Brisco was playing out of position and the 3-4 spots hurt us this year..
If we could get bamba a elite shot blocker/rebounder and we get brisco to stay point to develop his pg skill we could make a run if vanderbilt can give us 25 min at the SF spot and knock down open jumpers..
P.s. I have seen a lot of posters pretty much wrote Gabriel off as a player who can play at a high level. But at the same time fuss at oads.. It amazes me that people don't realize how different guys develope.. Take jorts.. Think how willis improved over the years. Take the hawk for a example ect ect.
The best thing that hapoened for hawk was fox having a ankle injury.ever since he got a lot more minutes in that period of games he started trending up and he kept getting better and better..amazing what confidence can do to a guy.

On his call in show, Cal said he had told the FOUR that will probably go, he needs to talk to them in the next few days to start gathering the information they will need. I think I got it wright?

Briscoe should stay, and perhaps be a four year player. He can polish his game. I just don't see him making an NBA squad at this point.

Losing some weight and playing a season as starting PG might really help Briscoe.

Potential injury...
you get better quicker in NBA...

not to mention, getting drafted late means you are on a good team. That's actually really good too.
Not this year.

Last 10 picks of the draft have some perennial bad teams mixed with some soon to be bad teams:

Oklahoma City
Orlando
Toronto

Brooklyn
Utah
Brooklyn
Portland
LA Lakers
San Antonio
Utah

If Bam really is a late 20s pick I don't get it at all. This is a LOADED draft.

He could come back and easily be a top 15 pick.

I swear....some of these decisions get really old

NBA Draft Net has Bam going at # 16.
