Easy, because they know they are hugely unpopular because they were chaotic, destructive and will harm their constituents, including the elderly and veterans. Codifying bad policy decisons also isn't good for their careers.

🚨 NO RECESS APPOINTMENTS: The House is now on "AUGUST RECESS" until September 2 - ending session early to avoid vote on bill to Release Epstein Files.

41 DAYS OFF...

The Senate will take a 39-DAY RECESS starting August 1, even though 262 Trump nominees and 50 Federal Judge positions remain unfilled.

There will be NO Recess Appointments.

Johnson and Thune will convene-and-adjourn every 4 or 5 days to block Trump from making any recess appointments.

WHAT IS YOUR MESSAGE TO THE GOP "LEADERSHIP" @SpeakerJohnson and @LeaderJohnThune?

He might in deep **** if true.

🚨 BREAKING: An Official FEC complaint has been FILED against Senator John Thune (R-SD) for allegedly "SMURFING" $1.14 MILLION - splitting funds into <$10K deposits using 714 stolen senior IDs using WinRed's platform.

Thune now faces impeachment calls for allegedly using the same fraudulent money laundering Democrats use with ActBlue.

SHOULD @LeaderJohnThune BE REMOVED FROM THE SENATE?

These folks need to be held accountable. I'm afraid though that there is too much rot to ever fix it.
When will your DA ever be accountable to the Constitution that prohibits abuse of recess appointments? You prove your stupidity every time you respond to one of Growls tweets because you have no idea what you're talking about. If we jailed everyone you think should be locked up, 99% of Americans would be behind bars.

"Thune said that he hoped recess appointments will not be needed, depending on whether Senate Democrats confirm Trump’s nominees in a timely manner. However, the U.S. Constitution prohibits abuse of recess appointments, with very rare exceptions for urgent circumstances, a bar that is clearly not met here.

CREW’s research shows that there was not undue delay in confirming President Trump’s nominees in 2017. In fact, the average time for Senate confirmation of his initial cabinet nominees was 26 days. CREW and 69 other groups have urged the Senate to not allow recess appointments, emphasizing that:

As Justice Scalia wrote in his concurrence in the 2014 Noel Canning case, in which all nine justices agreed that the president had exceeded his recess appointment power: “[T]he limitation upon the President’s appointment power is there not for the benefit of the Senate, but for the protection of the people.”

Cotton is not to be trusted.

.@SenTomCotton is leading an effort to gut the Office of the Director of National Intelligence through his bill S.2202, the so-called “Intelligence Community Efficiency and Effectiveness Act of 2025.”

Don’t be fooled by the name. This bill would strip critical oversight powers from the ODNI and hand them back to agencies like the FBI and NSA, which have repeatedly proven they cannot police themselves.

This is not about efficiency. It’s a power grab designed to derail Director @DNIGabbard ’s work to uncover what really happened during the @BarackObama years, when false intelligence narratives like Russia-gate were weaponized against @POTUS @RealDonaldTrump .

Cotton’s bill is a direct attack on the one office capable of bringing transparency and accountability to a deeply corrupt intelligence establishment.

At the exact moment Director Gabbard begins investigating key Obama-era officials like Clapper, @JohnBrennan , and Rice, Cotton moves to kneecap her. This is no coincidence. His bill even rewrites job titles and chains of command to subtly but effectively insulate entrenched bureaucracies from oversight.

Cotton tries to sell this as a MAGA-friendly reform by tossing in a redundant DEI ban that Gabbard already implemented on day one. It’s political theater meant to bait conservatives while handing the deep state more control.

S.2202 must be stopped.

I break it all down in my latest piece. Please read it, share it, and if this outrages you like it does me, please speak up.

Link in the comments. Thank you!

Our Senate @LeaderJohnThune decided to take a 6 week vacation instead of getting Trumps nominees confirmed.

Now he is stopping Trump from recess appointments.

John also refuses to censure or remove proven liar Adam Schiff from committee assignments.

The SAVE act is still sitting on his desk.

But he is enjoying you funding him and his vacation.

TIME FOR NEW LEADERSHIP IN THE SENATE!

Looks like you aren't paying attention to what your beloved liberal party is doing with their "town halls."
"Their" town halls? These town halls were called and scheduled by GOP House members and Senators! The fact that they are getting booed, and receiving virtually no cheers, suggests that a whole lot of their constituents are unhappy with them. In fact, the RNC's direction to House members has for several months been to simply avoid holding town halls or other constituent meetings in their home districts. THAT is not a good look, although it is perfectly understandable.

as usual, you might be 100% right. On the other hand it's entirely possible the town halls might have been stacked with democrats. You never know.

I just saw an article about some CEO whose company provides crowds for protests. Of course the protesters get paid. He remarked how business is great. Be a middle of the road guy, I'll assume republicans are out on the streets as much as democrats and probably some who just like to protest. A buck is a buck

Many of them started requiring proof that you live in the district so no matter their political persuasion, a constituent is a constituent. And LOL at the never-ending claims of paid protestors when Magas get heckled or marched on.

Now THAT was funny. My normal impulse would be to say "Give the woman a chance to speak," but this particular woman has done a whole lot to alienate her constituents. Plus, she made it quite clear that she wanted to bail out on them to take the U.N. Ambassador job. She's lucky that New York's 21st Congressional District is deeply red, and that she ran against a weak opponent in 2024, when she was perceived as unbeatable. (That opponent, one Paula Collins, was widely described as a "cannabis tax attorney," Wut?!) Stefanik won 62% of the vote. That won't heppen next year. She'll be lucky to win, and definitely will not win if Kathy Hochul pushes redistricting through.

Based on that reception, I agree that she doesn't have much of a chance next year because I do believe the constituents are anxious to put a stop to Orange Shrek running roughshod over this country, without any checks and balances, though I expect him to pull every dirty trick in the book to keep from being held accountable.

We the people in fact do NOT want Alina Habba confirmed. Rather, we want to see her pursuing the career for which her talents and interests are best suited: cocktail waitressing at Hooters.
Alina is incredibly talented, hardworking and of course smoking hot!!!
