Might as well get it started. Thoughts on this game?
Robbinsville by 7. I was impressed by the cougars at the jamboree. They did well against a much better dorman team. They were small up front on both sides of the ball and that will help the knights play their brand of old school football. Speed kills but strength punishes

I look for them to take a step back. They got beat last year by 20+ By Robbinsville
That Asheville team that lost by 20 isn’t the same team that finished the year, they improved 1000% over the season last year. They won’t lose again to Robbinsville.

Look I’m not even an Asheville fan, I just don’t see them losing two years in a row to Robbinsville. No disrespect to Robbinsville I just think at home on opening night Asheville will be ready to avenge last year.

So the half they lost basically just stood there and did nothing?
We return our leading rusher and receiver. Replace qb with what will end up being an upgrade probably. Return 4 lineman. Defense lost both ends and linebackers but keep 4 lineman corners and safety’s.

It’s all going to depend on how ready to play Asheville is. Athletically it’s not even a debate, but if Robbinsville wants it more and Asheville shows up sleep walking again like last year, we will lose again. And as usual, if we turn the ball over 18 times like we did last year, it won’t matter who we are playing, we will lose. It’s hard to believe that the team that should have beaten mallard creek last year also lost to Robbinsville badly. We have to be ready to play from the opening quarter, that’s just the bottom line. If we still had our QB from last year, I’d say Asheville by double digits, but since we are starting a freshman, I’ll still take us by double digits.

The thing is, Asheville should win.

To the Asheville fans. What were your thoughts on the Jamboree with Asheville n Dorman. I know it’s only scrimmage but I thought Asheville did well against Dorman. Sounded like me that Asheville might have a solid team.

Asheville will be the team they were at the end of the year last year. Very good on defense and an offense that gets better each game. They could easily go undefeated or they could lose 2 or 3, but I’ll be shocked if they aren’t ready for Robbinsville.

I know Dorman is traditionally strong but they were 4-6 last year, so I don’t know if their competition is that strong where they only win 4 games? I’m sure they are good but I’m not sold on them being a national power like people think.

dang I didn’t know that. They did look incredibly big and had tons of players from what I saw. That is surprising about last year. Scrimmages are very hard to tell how good you’ll be no matter who you’re playing

Who coaches Dorman? How many returning starters does Ash have coming back. Heard the freshman QB will be a good one.

I’m taking robbinsville by 14. 21-7. The cougars are small up front on both sides of the ball and robbinsville will abuse them up front. Games are won in the trenches. I do like this asheville team and believe they will have a good season

I think Asheville is the favorite.
If we hadn't lost our leading tackler I might say Robbinsville. Just depends on the line. We ran all over Asheville defensive last year. It's basically the same defense so who knows.

Congrats Cougars. Great defense. That is a very winnable game for Robbinsville but ultimately, we made too many mistakes with the ball.

The Coach at Asheville comes highly recommended from Crest and Chase. I think his name is Radford. Word on the street is he’s very intelligent and highly motivated. Hear he is top notch in the food chain. Maybe Crest should have kept him. Young guy that wanted to back home.

I’ve heard nothing but good things about him and his staff over there at asheville. Good to see the cougars doing good again. Heard they can recruit their tails off as well

Acr has recruited for years! I believe Shane Laws will retire soon and when he leaves Radford from Asheville will take the ACR job
