Can Federer really be considered the greatest of all time when one of his contemporaries owns him in head to head on the court?

Rafa's record is 23-10 against him.

Exactly how I feel about Brady vs Manning.

I realize I'm referring to a team sport, but it's not like the record is that close.

Nadal hit his prime when Federer was already in decline, but I don't see the issue as how it was framed by SVP. The better question is whether Nadal is going to surpass Federer as the best of all time.

This is correct.

I'm watching the match right now and nadal is just filthy. He can put the ball anywhere on the court. If he wouldn't have been hurt for 2 years I think he would already be above Fed

Absolutely. One huge reason for that record is that in the time Federer was at his best, he never got to play Nadal on hard court or grass because Nadal never made it to the finals. You have to look at overall record. I really think Nadal, Fed, and Djokovic are 3 of the top 5 players all-time. They're all that good.

Maybe. But his style of play dictates that he will have injury issues in his career. If he hadn't been hurt for 2 years, he wouldn't be the player he is.
