So you think @bofayungsavage is the official Iowa Football handle? I know there are rumors, but I don't think this is official, lol.

Haven’t seen any main stream CFB media reporting it yet but they wait for more confirmation so it still could be true.

Also see it’s possibly just as OC so he could be on staff in 2024 just not OC.

It was really funny and not totally out of the realm of possibility if you have been reading their fans' comments over the past two years.

If Ferentz doesn’t like to go out of his comfort zone, the candidates I saw mentioned from the staff were Ladell Betts RB coach or Jon Budmayr analyst.

The HR candidate was UW OC Ryan Grubb. He turned down the Alabama OC position last year to stay at Washington with long time coaching partner DeBoer.

Grubb is from Iowa though and I wonder if that with a possible HCIW offer might not be able to get him. Ferentz is getting up there so it doesn’t seem outlandish.

I believe Kelton Copeland the Hawkeyes' WR coach has been named interim co-OC
with HC Kirk Ferentz taking on the other spot
( I saw that somewhere , but can't find it , so have to say it's just a rumor now )

IU had an interim OC too. I haven’t seen anything about Ferentz leaving his OC job though until after the season.
Rod Carey at Indiana ? I didn’t think he was

Right ferentz is staying through bowl game.
Maybe interim is not the best word . But it does mean temporary

I think he's seriously thinking about leaving
This article makes me feel he wan't consulted, felt timing wrong and wasn't thrilled about his son having stipulations added to the contract that was already signed

Kirk Ferentz focused on end of 2023 season despite Brian Ferentz news

I got the impression he wasn’t happy about it either.

Iowa rival Matt Campbell on the radar lol if he leaves? Maybe Grubb won’t have to be HCIW then.

I give the interim AD (possibly permanent infl the future) credit doing what should’ve been done awhile ago. Don’t give any chance to pull it back. After another miserable offensive showing, you’ve got the opportunity.

I watched Kirk’s weekly press conference, and a reporter actually asked Ferentz “How do you feel about the decision?” I mean, whether you like the guy or not, what the heck kind of question is that to ask to a father when his son is terminated? What is the guy supposed to say?

I never understood the benefits of hiring your child into such a prominent position when you don’t own the company…

Helping them get started makes sense. Graduate assistant to lower level position coach makes sense. After that I’m not sure it’s worth the risk to the family dynamic long term.

But that’s just me…

My guess that's the truth , but he'll retire if the interim AD isn't replaced .
The way his son was let go without his input ( I believe he didn't know) probably
pissed him off enough to not want to work under her next year.
Like I said just a guess based on opinion without any facts to back it up

She might technically be interim and I’m not sure why they haven’t removed the tag. From what I’ve read in the past, it was with the assumption she came on board to takeover for Barda when he retired. She was an AD somewhere else in the lower levels and took the deputy AD job at Iowa for a reason.
