That would not surprise me in the least. But how would they justify having Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina and Arkansas In that group of 20?

Kentucky, Vanderbilt, South Carolina, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Missouri--really even Tennessee--what makes those schools "worthy"? Half the SEC, sometimes more, has been riding the coattails of Alabama.

Basically locking down the most likely playoff teams that way the conference can get the majority of the money. Smart of them.

Actually... I could see this. The same way the B1G, PAC, Big12, SEC, ACC froze out the other conferences to get a bigger piece of the pie ... eventually the Alabamas, Oklahomas, Oho States - form a super 25 conference and freeze out the WVUs, NCStates, KStates, and Marylands.
Of course, this destroys the college sports I lived - where I liked updates on Army-Rutgers... or East Carolina-Wake Forest. It was the variety that made college sports interesting.

No way the BIG allows these name brand schools to leave. I still think 4 respected conferences with a 5th make of leftovers.

Few people on this message board have said that we are heading this direction

One of those people who didn’t was Greggor.
ACC cheerleader. But not one of their better ones.

Stupid. ACC on the chopping block. Valuable pieces but no stability. UNC can pull the plug in an instant.
But he acts like he has read the contract😂
I haven’t. But have attorneys who have said that the ACC Network is only thing schools are obligated to. It is with ESPN.

My odds sucked. Had the SEC at the bottom.
UGA really does value how they are seen. Florida is very similar to Texas. But happened latter. The doctor who invited Gatorade is actually a graduate of the University of Texas.
There is an understanding of academics at certain schools

Maybe they can force Michigan to give in or create an Ohio St/Michigan fight

UNC could help. UNC gives them a lot more power

Reading the contract is only the first step. You need to interpret it, and then consider everything which has occurred since it was signed and present an argument to invalid portions of it....which isnt that difficult, for people who do it for a living.

There will he multiple lawsuits and an injunction. Then it gets dragged through the system, and the public, and the media. Then you start pulling people in for depositions, subpoena records, leaking to the press, ect.

In the end, everyone settles...a GOR isnt something you put in the hands of a judge. You squeeze a fair settlement but move on because if not you could get left with nothing and get bruised in the legal process.

Not too mention, the person signing your checks (networks) are the same people who orchestrated the whole issue...so who are you going to war with?

ESPN isn’t stupid either.
This fun they are having with FOX seems preplanned.

B1G has money behind them with FOX Sports

FOX sports executives have been on mainly the LA schools.

FOX probably wants to work out a better deal. For the most part the B1G screwed them. Reason for the B1G network looking so low budget.
Barely has any original programming

This gives them a chance because Ohio State is feeling a little left out but wants to continue what they have.

Hook, line & sinker 😂. Gets you every single time. @KingCoal I still got it!!!!
You got what?

That I made a post?

You live so far outside of reality it isn't even funny...it's no wonder no one respects anything you type on here...we are all still laughing at you....you do realize that right?

The fact that you are 'trying to get me' on a message board just proves how much I live in your head...right?

B1G fans don’t care.
They tell themselves they are somehow the biggest stage but really aren’t.
But because they tell themselves that they show up and watch their teams.
Massive fanbases.
Huge alumni bases

Don’t know if adding UCLA or USC will help.
It keeps Ohio State afloat if nothing more.

But this shoe can drop anytime. FOX executives aren’t messing around.
Funny if they sell out Ohio State for USC.
Don’t see it though. Real fans vs Fake fans

I have always stated that when people finally start cutting the cord and start streaming, college football is going to be chaotic. That what’s getting ready to happen. There will be (IMO) an SEC/ESPN app that will cost 15+ per month to watch games. Same for ACC. Do you need rabbit fan bases to pay for that? Yes.

Cutting out the media footprint is the only way to get geographic sense for college sports. WVU will probably be in the ACC, however I don’t know about Notre Dame. I’m not sure this is enough to push them over the line, but I think the ACC needs to read the big 12 and grab Oklahoma State, Texas Tech or TCU, Kansas, Iowa St.

Make it a massive mega conference and geographically work it out. Grab cincy if you need to. Just get teams and get big. I personally believe the SEC is not done with just Texas and Oklahoma.

Ohio State trying to put pressure on the B1G

Only thing going on is the B1G/FOX are in talks with the PAC
Amazon should start streaming FOX college sports products pretty soon.
So that Ohio St/Michigan game will be on Amazon Prime

If it doesn’t happen they will pretty much continue to suck the life out of the conference

Pretty much what they were doing in the Big 12
Funny how they like to play with mics during football games to create or take away from atmosphere

You say Destroying. The SEC says smart business and building the brand.

It's not "destroyin ma football" it's smart moves made by smart people
LocustWV is good people. I think he’s just frustrated on how college football has went to hell the past few years and how college athletics as a whole doesn’t represent what is used to be and what it was meant to.

But I don’t blame the SEC. they are making money moves and are not going to be left in the dust. They are being proactive instead of reactive. I respect their aggressiveness.

Not them anymore
It is ESPN. Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck making moves

Opens up a lot of storylines in the SEC.
Alabama still has power because people love college football there and brings eyeballs to the television
Birmingham #1 market
