Exactly! That's why losing Saturday was a big deal. There is no room for error now. Yet the Scarlet colored glasses crowd still think yesterday was a building block and GW is awesome. The goal this year was a bowl. Not building for the future. Got to win the next two by any measure possible including changing the lineup and play calling!Need to win next 2
So, Iowa and MD are tough because they are both 5-1 but Wisc was easier? Not following.Exactly! That's why losing Saturday was a big deal. There is no room for error now. Iowa was and is a more winnable game than Wisconsin.Exactly! That's why losing Saturday was a big deal. There is no room for error now. Got to win the next two by any measure possible including changing the lineup and play calling!
Iowa and Maryland haven't beaten anyone. Wisconsin is better than both teams.
There is NO WAY that you counted Wisky as a win before the season started. You have revealed just how much you let your hatred of GS color your commentary here.Exactly! First dummy I am a huge fan of Schiano. There is NO WAY that you counted Wisky as a win before the season started. You have revealed just how much you let your hatred of GS color your commentary here.
Can't speak to Iowa but Maryland is playing well. Actually had a 10 point lead against Ohio State. Demolished Michigan State, and Indiana.Do people really think Wisconsin is worse than UMD and Iowa? I am not following...
Wisconsin is absolutely NOT a mirror image of Rutgers. Completely different offense and defensive philosophies. Can't speak to Iowa but Maryland is playing well. Actually had a 10 point lead against Ohio State. Demolished Michigan State, and Indiana.
You watched the Rutgers Wisconsin game? You really think Wisconsin is good? They are nearly a mirror image of Rutgers. Good defense and questionable offense but a better offensive line.
Playing them now is getting closer to playing an elite teamThat was said about 6-5 Maryland last year and then they won over RU 37-0 (40-16 the year before).
RU matches up poorly with Maryland for some reason
Tell me why you think RU should have beaten a Wisconsin team ON THE ROAD that is also 5-1, and was a 14-point favorite? If you thought this game should have been a W for Rutgers, then congrats, you are the "1"Exactly! That's why losing Saturday was a big deal. There is no room for error now. Agreed I thought we had a 20-30% chance of pulling the upset. I think that's reasonable. Wisconsin is currently just outside the top 25, will probably win the west and and will most likely finish in the top 25.There were plenty of people downgrading Wisconsin last week here.
Particularly in regards to us beating them not being uncalled for.
With most bucketing all 3 teams together (Maryland slightly ahead of the other 2).
Note - the analytical assessment ability of this board as a whole has never exactly been top quality.
I did not say philosophy. Try reading again. Good defense, questionable offense.Wisconsin is absolutely NOT a mirror image of Rutgers. Completely different offense and defensive philosophies.
Listen up, You may not like Schiano but from where we were from the previous two coaches we are light years ahead. They are getting better every game and i can see the progression. Schiano is on the right path and we are getting better.Yep a must win for us, but a more interesting thing to ponder: what will GS say if we lose on Saturday ?
Will he recycle his infamous “someday our better will be better than their better” postgame **** the bed quote ? (Yes, verbatim). Or, “we didn’t go 1-0 this week but we’re getting closer. We’re going to keep choppin”
They average over 400 yards of total offense and more than 30 ppg. Not questionable. Quite good actually.I did not say philosophy. Try reading again. Good defense, questionable offense.
Especially in the case of Maryland, let's not forget how we dominated them on both sides of the ball last year. As for Iowa, c'mon, we were just a few plays of blowing them out last year at SHI Stadium, so going on the road to Kinnick Stadium should be a cakewalk for this team. Chalk both those games up as Ws, don't even need to play the games, foregone conclusion.Iowa and Maryland haven't beaten anyone. Wisconsin is better than both teams.
You just said, and I quote, "The goal this year was a bowl. Not building for the future. "First dummy I am a huge fan of Schiano.
2nd this game of "in the beginning of the season..." is nonsense. Rutgers wasn't picked for a bowl game. It's not what we thought in April but what we have seen in the games already. They been better then everyone thought going into this season. 10 mins into that game Saturday it was obvious our defense was able to stop them. We needed first downs on drives if we didn't score and couldn't have turnovers otherwise we win that game. We didn't get either and worse went went from adding at least 3 points or maybe 7. Instead we give them 7 right before the half. Unfortunately Maryland is better too so we have 2 must win games left. It would be a complete collapse if we don't make a bowl after a 4-1 start
Reductio ad absurdumEspecially in the case of Maryland, let's not forget how we dominated them on both sides of the ball last year. Bingo, you nailed it, he's clueless. You just said, and I quote, "The goal this year was a bowl. Not building for the future. "
Why say this if not to blame Schiano directly for the loss as if we were expected to beat Wisconsin all along?
The way you worded that response it is not supportive of the coaches, program or players in any way. It is whining and bitching and moaning about a loss. Yeah, it was disappointing.. but you want to use it to say we should have won and must make a bowl game... which the people that know this program all thought was barely possible. And the idea that it was possible at all at this point was a positive.. something to build on.
Would you rather the players take that loss as a building experience or one that they should respond to by hanging their heads in shame and just give up on the rest of the season. That goes for the fans as well.. should we all join you in giving up on the season? If we don't win 2 more are you "out" as a fan?
Tell me you bet your house on us making a bowl game this year and I might excuse such a reaction from someone who says he is a fan and supporter of the head coach. Otherwise, you sound like a loser.
So let them lose out as a learning experience and you'll be happy? You are such a great fan! They have enough experience losing! You just said, and I quote, "The goal this year was a bowl. Not building for the future. "

whatevs. you are hopeless. So let them lose out as a learning experience and you'll be happy? You are such a great fan! They have enough experience losing!
Hahaha. You say dum things and when it's repeated back .....whatevs. you are hopeless.
well said, very well saidExactly! That's why losing Saturday was a big deal. There is no room for error now. just search my posts, I battled a bunch saying they didn't know what they were talking about. Hell we've got Mel and his sidekick saying it too. ooopsThere were plenty of people downgrading Wisconsin last week here.

people here are mot the only ones that feel Wisconsin is better than Iowa.just search my posts, I battled a bunch saying they didn't know what they were talking about. Hell we've got Mel and his sidekick saying it too. ooops
now we've got people saying wisc is better than Iowa and MD lol, Iowa defense is like the 78 Steelers and MD looks like Udub lite from the East Coast. They can score a lot in a short period of time.
Here's something else you, the GS fan, said..Hahaha. You say dum things and when it's repeated back .....
Hahaha. Dismissed? Like I'd listen to you! Glad you wasted your time today. Maybe you should write a book! Here's something else you, the GS fan, said..

So.. you are a fan but do not think he is awesome. got it. You repeatedly create these strawman arguments where you fabricate some imaginary group of idiots that you have to set straight. In this case that's the "Scarlet colored glasses crowd still think yesterday was a building block and GW is awesome."
If you learn nothing from failure, as seems to be the case with you, then, yes, Saturday could not possibly be a building block. Showing we could go into Madison and compete at all.. something we have not done before.. could not possibly be a building block. Going into Madison where many thought we might actually win, never mind beat the 13-point spread.. could not possibly be a building block.
You don't need scarlet-colored glasses.. but you do need glasses.. strong ones. because you cannot see progress and building blocks when they are right in front of you.
You are dismissed. Good day, sir.
Hahaha. Dismissed? Like I'd listen to you! Glad you wasted your time today. Maybe you should write a book!
