I have to laugh a little reading that (along with most other predictions for the RB situation).
Brown - 1 good game and immediately got injured for the rest of the year: star ready to break out
Monangai - had an even better game and was the lead RB all year: disappointing season and being replaced

Remove Wagner and nobody had more than 1 rushing TDs.
Brown, Salaam, Monangai all had 1 against actual teams.

Monangai wouldn’t have been the lead back if Brown was not injured. And if you actually watched the Nebraska and Indiana games Brown was very clearly the best running back on the team and probably the best offensive player as a just true freshman.

What's his yard per rush if you take MSU out?

I think Sam Brown will be solid, but yeah, some of the comments since last fall are a little ahead of themselves...

Brown has a legit ability to make people miss in the backfield and at the LOS. He also squares his shoulders well and finishes runs forward.

That being said college football teams need 2-4 RBs that legit can make plays. I think we have 2-4 RBs who can be impactful.

Maybe I have concerns with Brown’s durability but I’m just not that impressed with the group.
Schiano is sure hoping the OL can open holes to get ‘Samuel El Jack-you-up-son’ going downhill. He’s a chunk runner (lots of 10-20 yard runs) if the OL is above average. Good QB play would help open up the running game as well.
