What is your effing problem? It was a terrible call as anyone, including a career ref, could see. Must suck to be so miserable and root against your team.
Of course a bad call. But the homer fans blame every loss on the refs. That was the point. WRs being held, bogus roughing calls, etc. Refs don’t always get calls right but don’t favor one team over the other and are not the reason a team wins or loses.

Probably was for joy .
No matter what, I'm happy for the win , no matter how it came about.
I'm glad Schiano left Ross Ade Stadium with a much needed victory
I'm also thrilled that the players will be leaving West Lafayette, Indiana as winners.

A win for RU fans as well, because the bowl hope remains alive.
Yea me too. Glad for the win and have players stepped up. But that reaction was and is a little over the top and screams bush league.

Good win today- I don’t agree agree with not taking the points early- the REFs- can’t even find an argument for the blown punt muff call-
We still have major issues with tackling and swarming the ball but there is that team played its hearts out.
Greg pushed them as well. I needed to see that.
BTW- game was closer than it should have been even- you could see on the field that we were better.
AK/Duff/Raymond- all beasts today

I’m happy they won, especially for the players. I watched through the first drive of the 2nd half. RU had that great drive at the end of the 1st half, so opening the 2nd half I thought the defense needed a stop. What I saw was a replica of the 1st drive of the game, RU not setting the edge, bad angles, bad tackling. Then having a RB completely uncovered for a an easy TD down near the goal line, I was done. Went to the county park and did my normal 5 mile fast walk. I checked the score periodically and I’m happy. With this defense I doubt we will win another. Maybe MD at home.

Our defense is horrible this season. With last year's defense and this year's offense, we probably have two more wins, 50-50 on a third game, and made the Oregon game much more competitive.

Might be a little over the top, but don't believe it was a bush league way to express the relief he probably felt.
so
I'll call it emotional overload and letting your joy show after suffering 4 straight losses .

He’s being roasted nationally with that reaction. It will be a meme. Act like you’ve been there.
Only care about the win and I'll not complain about his emotional outburst.
Let the memes come
Rutgers fans seem to worry more on how things look to others, than enjoying the win .
I care about the win and that looks good to me

but I'm curious about the memes being made out of an emotional Schiano .
Hopefully they'll be posted on this sight.

Of course a bad call.
FIFY. There was no reason to insult me or other fans at that point with your snark. Maybe people might believe you are an RU fan if you called out a bad call against RU in real time, which is what any real fan would do. Not a single person in the thread was suggesting we were losing due to the refs.

There were plenty of complainers about missed or wrong calls, only one sided of course. And had we lost, the bitching about uncalled holding our receivers would have been endless.

go back and read the Minnesota, Washington and Iowa threads.

I'll never understand folks who look for any reason to complain after a win. Act like a fan.
Not complaining at all. Very surprised by his reaction. Especially from a guy that preaches being in control of your emotions. I don’t have to act like a fan. I am.

Breathing a sigh of relief and enjoying the moment , is what's happening.
Will be slightly beating chests if it's 2 in a row at the end of Illinois game
Get the tri against the Turtles on Nov.8th and the chest pounding will reach Columbus,Ohio
making the Buckeyes fear for their playoff chanced being ruined on the 22nd :ROFLMAO:

Yes I.m going to enjoy this win, no matter who RU played or if luck came at the end .
Complaining about a win might suite others fancy , but not for me.
It is really simple:

1) Yeah, this season has been disappointing
2) CHANGE.. without a way to pay for POSITIVE change is very RISKY
3) In 2003, Schiano was on the hotseat by many who are still around here. But sticking with him was the right thing to do.
4) Maybe this is a similar situation (see number 2)

That's what is happening. If we are in a similar situation as 2003-2004 then maybe this is all about talent level right now and how the changes caused by NIL and easy transfers has put us in a very bad spot.

Instead of calling out "Schiano *apologists*", how about explaining, in detail, how you can afford to fire him and then who you would hire and how you would pay for him and his demands. I do not have a cute name for you all like "Schiano Apologists" so you'll have to label yourselves.

Also, if you cannot enjoy your favorite team getting a win after a 4-game losing streak.. just hang it up. Maybe this rooting thing isn't for you.

Any average Schiano defense we are likely 6-2 right now

I sort of get it. The defense, the most unlikely of units, bailed him out…. Not only did we need that win, but if Purdue drives into FG range and kicks a game winner the loss really does fall on his shoulders with the red zone decision not to take the points. Instead, the D gets a game winning takeaway for him.

His crying didnt bother Shelby at the time, but looking back maybe it was because he bet big on Purdue and lost. That would also explain not calling a TO on the undefended TD and the why he checked the chart on whether or not to go for 2 after the last TD, as others have questioned…to consider the point spread in the decision.

Note: Shelby doesn’t believe the above, but with the gambling arrests this week and the ties to NJ Italian crime families, anything is possible.

Roasted nationally? The rest of the country doesn’t care what we are up to
Just saw the segment on the game and Schiano's reaction on the Final Drive on BTN.. Nothing but praise and understanding for Greg's emotional reaction to salvaging a lost season and winning a game Rutgers should have lost.

Iowa or Washington? Think we beat Minnie if it was a home game.

We were arguably one holding penalty away from winning the Iowa game despite our D. We had a 4 point lead with like 7.5 min to go. it was 3rd and 8 from the Iowa 33. We got a stop but someone committed a stupid defensive holding penalty completely unrelated to the play.

is ‘salvaging’ the proper word here ? beating a team that hasn’t won a conference game in 14 tries, and counting ?
