When did Thomas Jefferson become Elizabeth high school? Or a different high school?

The combined high school opened for the 1977 grad year. My older brothers were the last 2 graduation classes for TJ ('75 & '76). Once the new high school opened, TJ was for the 9th graders (plus music and most shop classes). Main campus 10-12th grades but there was some crossover.

RIP Sam.

Thomas Jefferson class of '73 here. Had the pleasure of watching Gil (and Richie Wood) play every Saturday.
My dad used to talk about Gil and Wood all the time. They were both legends in Elizabeth. Didn't realize Wood passed away last September. I must have missed that thread. 😀

Elizabeth High School might be the largest high school in the country with its multiple campuses. I don’t know what the current student population is, my class had 350.
