Softball Drops Defensive Big Ten Battle, 2-0, at Ohio State


Rutgers softball (16-18, 0-7) dropped a defensive Big Ten battle, 2-0, to RV/RV Ohio State (22-10, 6-1) on Friday evening at Buckeye Field.

RU Softball team just got it's 1st Big10 win of the season , beating Ohio ST 8-6 in extra innings. Power hitting catcher Wingert jacks a 2 run Homer in the top of the 8th. Series tie breaker tomorrow if they get it in. Surprised they aren't playing a DH today like Baseball is in Iowa.

PS- Baseball down 6-1 in the 6th with Iowa still hitting.

Considering OSU was 6-1 entering today and we were 0-7, that's a solid win. Our first two opponents in league play, Northwestern and Michigan, are both 7-0. We are starting with three of the toughest teams we will face.

Softball with a 6-1 win at Penn State today in the first game of the series. We hit three HR to pace the attack. Go get another W or two tomorrow, ladies! (They are playing a doubleheader tomorrow at 5 PM because bad weather is in the Sunday forecast.)

Is she from Iowa?

No, Kristen Butler played at Florida (was SEC player of the year, and that says a LOT. They are the deepest softball conference.) Previously, she was coaching at Toledo. Looks like a great hire!

We host Iowa (2-10 in conference, last place) next weekend for three. Need to get at least two but the goal should be to sweep them, too.

I was just poking fun at all of the posters who rip on Ash for being a midwestern guy who doesn’t get New Jersey.

I love the hire and what she has done in such a short period of time!
