MD 24 RU 9....

But we'll pull out all the stops for the bowl game...which means probably 1 play action pass and 1 punt return. Oh how exciting that will be.

There are a few predictions that have RU scoring over 20 points. RU has averaged a little over 8 points per game in their 5 losses and hasn't scored more than 16 points in any of those games. They're probably going to have to score defensive and special teams TDs to reach the 20 plus point mark, unless KC has a plan B on offense that we haven't seen all year. Or Maryland's defense is as vulnerable to between the tackles bully ball as the teams RU has beaten.

Why would you quote our average on O in ONLY our 5 losses? Really curious? Do our wins not count?

I can see you eliminating the Temple and Wagner games.

What’s our Ave points in ALL of our games less those two is what you should be saying?

Or if you want to eliminate games how about the top 4 out of top 10 defenses in the US.

Then what’s our o Ave vs the rest of the BIG which is more like the D we will see Saturday.
(Maybe MD is a bit better )

I wanna know what our offensive line is gonna look like and if Monangai is gonna be 100% .

Yup - this. We cannot win this game without an RT. It’s that simple. If we’re playing a 4th string kid it’s going to be rough. There’s nothing any OC or coach can do about that. Did you guys see how bad we looked when Reggie’s legs started failing on him late in the PSU game? Then he got hurt. Pass protection completely collapsed. Reggie probably shouldn’t be an every down tackle to begin with considering his risk of reinjury, but he’s by far the best we’ve got with Tyler out. If both Reggie and Felter can’t go Im afraid we simply will not have the horses on the right side of the trenches to be competitive.

I said if we beat Indiana that we’d win another regular season game and I’m not backing off that now. Pressure Tua’s baby brother and let the running game do the yeoman’s work.

It's one of those games that I wish was played at the beginning or middle of the the year and not now. I hope we have a plan for a bruised and and battered OL (just like them). We can win this game. I'm just not sure our OL is up to it.

C'mon they're favored by a couple, meaning it'll likely be a close game. We might not win, but saying we have no chance is just illogical.

Look - if Kyle plays at 60% and Tyler, Sutton and Felter are all out or one of them plays through a lot of pain, our chances of being competitive (let alone winning) go down a lot. We’ve have one of the worst pass offenses in FBS with above average pass protection. It’s hard to imagine us having success in the air with the right side of our line severely limited. We’ll try to run the ball favoring left cuts and runs up the middle - but the D will adapt quickly if we don’t mix things up. The problem is we won’t have the horses to execute anything else. We’ll have haters out in full force complaining about the play calling but the reality is there are only so many plays we could expect to run successfully without a competent RT available.

Unless someone is healthier than projected in that spot, our only hope IMO is an outrageous performance from our D that creates offense for us Iowa style.

Are you saying Willie Tyler is back at Rutgers? I thought he was now at Louisville? Now that is funny.

Neither Tyler nor Sutton played versus V tech or Temple (northwestern 2nd half) and we won and were still able to run the ball. I think we have enough depth at RT but as a whole the entire OL has not been very good against teams with a good DL and MD has a decent DL.

You mean Needham? Tyler is his first name. The player ( last name Tyler left RU) through portal . Now I understand who was the player.

I picked Rutgers to win this pre-season..
If they can control the ball, & maybe get/ or setup a TD with Special teams they will have a good chance
If Maryland QB starts off hot, then we could be in trouble.
May also come down to how they call the game. If Refs let them play it will be in our favor..

I think this is a really good matchup for Rutgers. Maryland isn’t a good defensive team, so that means Gavin will have a little more time. If KM is healthy enough they’ll move the ball. RU defensive strength is pass defense.

I assume Felter played RT or he filled in at guard and another starter shifted. There’s a very big drop off after Felter.

I fear RUs lack of depth continues to rear its head. MD wins going away again, just not quite as bad as last season.
