I think this will be a difficult, close game. RU really needs this one:

Rutgers: 19

Mich St: 16

Rutgers D gives the O a redzone turnover- 21
MSU's offense not nearly as good as Wisconsin's- 13

Recent history even when we're crap we still played well against MSU.
We'll make MSU one dimensional. Putting it all on the redshirt freshman's back.

As we get closer to this game- I am having deja vu all over again. I sort of feel like I did for the VaTech game...

Everything football related points toward a Rutgers win...bu I am so used to losing these games over recent years- that I feel hesitant.

With that- I think it goes sort of the same as the VaTech game and I worried for nothing...I hope lol

VaTech does count. Now, how many years in the B1G and we have heard many times we should hope to become a Mich St like program.
I have not once heard anyone say we should try to be a BC NWU or Cuse type program…
Illinois and Purdue were also pretty bead for a long time.
And yes, Greg beat Mich State previously- maybe you missed when I said since the Flood years.

Good story though…Maybe Shelby’s post “affected “your thought process…lol
No one has ever said be BC or northwestern . You didn’t say it either , you said “traditionally better”.
Then I just pointed out that we have beat teams that were traditionally better.

One Question, is how did we let Carter leave Connecticut and not make a stop in Piscataway?
He looks like that bulldozer we don't have for those 3rd and short and 1st down plays???

Don’t know the Carter story but not sure if you noticed the KM almost always moves a pile forward…

Which mistakes are we more prone to? We are 4th in the B1G on least penalized and 16 in the nation on TO margin and 3 in the B1g for TO margin.

MST is 127 in the nation in TO margin MST is also last in the B1G for most penalized and they have only played 5 games. -

The ref calls- I agree but we are far from mistake prone. and certainly do not make a lot more mistakes than MST...
Thinking past 40 years.

This year it’s been 2 of 6 games with the pick-sixes that essentially ended any chance to win in both losses.

Fair enough over the past history. And you are correct, those two costly mistakes cost us a lot. The good thing- is that those mistakes are coming so much less frequent this year. And, MST has been super mistake prone this year.

If I bet I’m taking MSU and the 4.5 points. I hope RU wins. Schiano beating B1G teams. Well remains to be seen. 1 league win last year and 1 this year.

Bunch of folk, like me, had it as a 4-point win.
Bunch of folk had Rutgers scoring 27.
These people were closest with the 3-point win for Rutgers...

@RU-Hunter 24-21
@RUScrew85 20-17
@scarletrat 23-20 (but called for 2 OT, which is weird with the low score)
@RUGuitarMan 19-16

Think you have to give it to @RU-Hunter 3-point win, the highest score for Rutgers with that margin of victory.

In what world? There were others who said 27-something nailing the win and Rutgers points.

I'd say order of priority is..

1 WINNING TEAM
2 MARGIN OF VICTORY
3 Correct Points Scored for each team

Many people got 1
- fewer got 2
-- no one got 3 but my choice was the closest of those who passed the other two tests

@Nycrusupporter had 27-20.. has you beat even if you wanted to come up with a different system than mine.

Hmm.. your handle is newell.. does that mean you played for Rutgers.. you do get points for that.
