Speaking of valuable positions, should we offer a scholly to a K?

I can't tell you how many times I left the room when we sent out the FG unit just so I didn't have to witness a drive stall with no points on the board when we missed the kick. Do we have a K coming up that can be more effective?

Maybe we have offered to a K...I don't know enough about this - but I do know that we seem to move the ball well down into the redzone and then stall. I don't know if a missed field goal is as demoralizing to our Defense (or our Offense) as it is to me - but a good K would allow us to put points on the board on significantly more drives. With a good Defense, that could win us more games. Amiright?

Bell was a Freshman. I think he ends up being good sooner than later.

We will not sign a kicker this year. We may or may not sign one next year.

Mullen seems to really believe in Bell. I have read reports that Bell is money in practice, it just seems to be an in game issue right now.

I've told high school football players that if they want to develop a skill that'll get them a scholarship to college and maybe even a career in the NFL, learn to long-snap. Snapping a football 15 yards, chest high, in less than 0.7 seconds and 7 yards knee-high in less than 0.5, can pay for a lot.

I still think it's a bad idea

You can get a quality LS to walk-on and then put them on scholarship later, and not have to use a 25 man spot.
