For arguments sake lets say for their respective time periods, Saban and Bryant are equal as far as coaching. The reason Bryant was so good in his day is b/c he out recruited everyone (helped by no signing limits etc.). Look at what Saban is doing today. With current limits it is mind boggling. Using 247 rankings.
2013- 4 of the top 20 committed. As many as 4 more is possible by NSD.
2012- 4 of top 20 signed
2011- 2 of top 20 (3 of top 23)
2010- 1 of top 20 (3 of top 33)
After looking at this is easy to see that Saban has Bama recruiting trending up. Scary thought huh? This doesnt even account for all the 5 stars and 4 stars he gets. Im only looking at the uuper echelon elite talent. All these guys are their gamebreakers on both sides of the ball. Bama is stock piling their already loaded roster. Long story short, the SEC West, whole SEC, and the entire nation is 17ed.
Saban has won 3 of the last 4 NC. Making a 4 game playoff will make it easier for him to get in the title game. Can he duplicate that again and get 6 of 8 NC's? I think its pretty dang possible and immediately makes him the best coach in CFB history.
