2. We need to continue our love/hate relationship with Reggie Bush.

Another thing I hear from non-tortured fans is “Why do you guys hate
on Reggie so much, he’s good, just not great, give him a break, what do
you guys expect out of him?” Hmmmm, that’s tough to answer. I’ll try
though. We expect 4,000 rushing yards per season, 250 receptions and we
want him to play a little safety. How’s that for you? See, the problem
with reggie is not reggie. It’s REGGIE. It’s the capital letter player
we think he should be. Let me give you an analogy, one the fellas will
surely get. Let’s say you meet a girl with gorgeous eyes, a perfect set
of moist lips, and a six inch tongue. You end up getting her out of
pure good fortune, and you’re certain that based on her physical
attributes, you’re in store for a lifetime of blowjob bliss. She’s a
can’t-miss dick sucker, you’re sure of it. She starts off showing
promise and has her moments, but there’s just something missing. You’re
forced to bring in other chicks to help her carry the load. Add to this
the fact that one of your boys went to college with her and told you
that she used to be a +@*$%%@ expert. Like an award winning, once in a
generation, fellatio prodigy. It’s as if she came to
you and forgot about the fact that a Blowjob is all about enthusiasm,
passion and determination. She might never have them. She just ain’t no
pro bowler. And you can’t ever forgive her for fooling you.

If so, that depends. If they win the Super Bowl, you let him go. If not, franchise him and try to win it all again next year. He's played well this year but I just don't think he's worth what his market value will be.

He isn't that good between the tackles and he still forgets sometimes that he isn't in college and loses yards trying to reverse field. If he could possibly stay healthy and he returns kicks and punts, plays the slot, and totes the ball 10 times a game, then yes.

he turns in a major performance in the Super Bowl. I'm talking MVP levels. If he manages to do that, letting him go would engender too much ill will from the masses.
Otherwise, he's been too inconsistent. Use that money to keep the rest of the roster intact, and pick up an athlete from somewhere else. Haven't looked into his availability, but I think Norwood would be a good fit. Certainly about the same skill set and health problems.

McCluster would be cheaper and could play the same role. Use the money saved to beef up defense - get a run-stopping Noseguard and a few younger, faster LB's.

you have to get rid of him. Maybe replace him with Norwood? Provided he agrees to get on a steroids and HGH regimen to stay healthy?

Someone asked Mike DeTillier earlier this season about his status and he saidhe's hearingthat Brown is right on schedule with hisrehab and that the Saints would resign him. I'll go on saintsreport and see if I can find the link.

Jahri Evans is also a restricted free agent as well so we will be spending some serious cointo keep our oline intact. I don't think we can keep Reggie Bush at his current price.

Maybe that had something to do with them running plays to the right side. That screen pass to Thomas was a brilliant playcall. But Brown is the better long-term answer. Also, I was impressed with that gigantic tight end that they kept putting in to help double some of the Vikings' d-linemen. Can't remember his name but it was obvious that he wasn't going to be catching any passes when he was in there.

there's a muffed punt, fumble, head-scratching 10 yard loss, etc. He's not worth that kind of money.

Brown is going to command a big contract in free agency. I really think we end up going with Bushrod because of the economics of it. I was really worried about him blocking Allen, but he did a good job last night.

Scout 2008 article....The team has set themselves up to be able
to release him before the 2010 season if he hasn't realized his potential. With just $7 million in prorated bonus
money remaining on the contract, the team could release him and not only cover the
loss, but come out ahead by roughly $3 million since he's scheduled to
earn $8 million in salary, a $490,000 roster bonus and $1.5 million in LTBE
bonus money that year.

You've got to admire the way the Saints worked out this deal. They're showing
great confidence in their developing star by committing more up-front dollars to
him now and by giving him a huge incentive in the form of the roster bonus. But they
also gave themselves an easy — and cap-efficient — way out of this deal prior
to the 2010 season if the circumstances warrant that decision.

that stuff he was doing in Oxford won't fly in the NFL at 165. Reggie Bush is fast but he's a lot bigger than you think he is. You think RB gets injured a lot? McCluster would be perpetually on the shelf for some injury.

he creates havoc for the opponents. You pull in Kim Kardashian and put her on the sidelines, have her turn her back to the other team, and not a one of those players on the other team have a chance.
