I saw on the FB that people are protesting Walmart's removal of the flag by showing up in the parking lots in their trucks with the flag flying. Equally despicable as what you brought up.

A big Dodge 4-wheel drive, jacked up, pickup truck passed me on I-64 near Huntington, WV yesterday evening with a US flag and a confederate flag flying from the bed of his pickup. He had a NC license plate. I thought about exercising my free speech by showing him he was number 1 but decided not to dignify his stupidity.

Saw a guy with a truck like, countryroads did, the other day.

What I do find absurd were the stories of Apple removing games from iTunes that show the flag, or TV Land cancelling re-runs of The Dukes of Hazzard.

I find the Confederate flag generally despicable. I observe the hatred that it stirs and symbolizes to many who proudly fly it. However, I am in total support of the churches flying the Christian flag overtop the American flag. It's about time some of the people woke the hell up to this utter sham that has existed in the years following my grandfather landing on Normandy Beach. For anybody whose head isn't up their ignorant, def, dumb, & blind keister .... over the increasingly worthless American flag is where an acknowledgement of Christ SHOULD be. If you want seperation of church and state that is your choice ..... just as it will be God's choice to separate the wheat from the tares and that is what will indeed happen. Yet, just give it enough time and somebody will make a push to have this flag removed too. Only difference is, Christ never stood for hate while Boss Hogg did.

This government has done all in its power to remove images of Christ from public view and it's not simply been limited to "government & public square interfacing" in the spirit of seperation of church and state. This government has no regard or use for the great and ONLY "I am" unless it's to pander to voters and even that is diminishing to a great degree now that George W. Bush took his "Vote for God by voting Republican" gibberish and went home.

Pretty soon ALL of us are gonna have to pick a side and there's only TWO sides that exist ....... the side that chooses Jesus and the side that doesn't ..... the latter side consisting oflikely 80% to 90% of this globe. When it's all said and done, the public (and their eternal money) will once again be WRONG ..... only there won't be any lights left in Vegas to steer them to their car nor will there by any second chances and do-overs. Not this time. You'd think the Jersualam star being back after 2,000 years would wake people up. Most people (like most on this forum) will be oblivious and unprepared when this baby wraps up.

Yes .............. DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMED!!!!

I've seen the US flag in churches before and it has always mystified me. Why would a church that is supposed to be about a universal, timeless God and religion put up the flag of a nation state? I don't see the connection.

Because they are proud to be God fearing Americans?

I guess American exceptionalism really is dead with your side huh?

I would have liked to ask that person a serious question.....

How long has that flag been up on his truck? Before all this has occurred? Or after the fact? If the answer is after the fact, then he's a complete douchebag looking for attention. If it was before, then I can at least respect his protesting and stance.

The American flag should NEVER be over any tribute to Christ under any circumstances. I hope we see more of this. It's time to flip on the lights and scatter the roaches ..... find out who stands with Christ and who does not. I already know where 80% of this forum stands based on their own admission.

Thousands died for my freedom ..... only ONE died for my soul and offers true freedom.

John 4:87

"Whoever belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God.

Folks need to soak it all in and enjoy their last remaining days mocking God and chastising his sheep. Funny how a bunch of peasants and fishermen bested all the "smart guys" in white lab coats. This world is bursting at the seams with educated idiots while wise men always reign as they know wisdom trumps fictional intelligence.

So what does that have to do with a God and religion that is supposed to supersede every nation state and everything else that has ever been or ever will be? When I say I don't understand why churches have a US flag up I'm not putting down the US, rather I'm question whether people really believe in the religion they say they believe in.

People are proud to be a lot of things but the church doesn't commemorate them inside the church. The point of going to church is to worship God, yadda, yadda, independent of any of the other earthly stuff like nation states or money or politics or whatever.

Is it cool if I accept a creator but not necessarily the Christian deity, as in acknowledging something greater than myself? Or do I have to be "All In" on JC?

Because most Christians believe and rightfully so they have religious freedom based on the founders creating a nation founded in the moralities and teachings of Christianity. It's an homage to the freedom this nation provides. I get why you don't get it.

I always respect your opinion and many times agree with most of things you state but I am clearly on the opposite side of you on this one. Churches are places of worship and one should pray for his country and his governmental leaders and be proud that the church is in the greatest country on the earth and respect that fact by flying the stars and strips proudly. In addition, I think it is right to pray for those that protect our freedom and respect those that did in the past and part of that is recognizing their service by presenting the flag on the grounds. A church flying a flag isn't necessarily religious but rather it is symbolic of what the congregation feels is important with their beliefs and being patriotic in the proper manner is just as important as things Christians do during their religious ceremonies.

Seems pretty clear to me.

Are you passing judgment on someone else? That's rhetorical - meaning you don't have to answer the question.

I'd say a person who clearly (and repetitively) rejects and mocks Jesus by their own words and admission has chosen their eternal path. Don't announce your secular and worldly loyalties for all to see and then act shocked when people acknowledge the verdict of your choice.

Let me edit it for you: Because this nation was founded on the principles of freedom to worship how you choose and the freedom to choose not to practice religion.

Crazy preacher people wishing for the end times always creep me out,

"Wishing"?

Leave the wishing to the Sears Christmas Wish Book and all those who salivated atop it.

That being said, it's probably poetic justice that this world finally hits something hard.

Dooooooooooooooooomed!!!!

Is that an actual sentence? You'd been better off speaking Aramaic. Well, perhaps not. I'm sure you're glad Jesus was croaked. You certainly show a ton of appreciation for his sacrifice.

Can you kindly point me to it?
I didn't say it was applauding I said you were using it to applaud yourself. I really just wanted to tell you I was a Preterist, which type of eschatologist are you?

Preterism, huh? That must be why the Jerusalem star is back after 2,000 years. I guess it's 1,900+ years late. It's sure gonna have a lot of explaining to do.

Also, how did all corners of the world hear his word by 70 AD? The estimated exposure to Christ's teachings by theists and secular scholars alike was less than 30% at the time the 2nd temple was destroyed ....... adding intrigue to the the materials for the 3rd temple being assembled as we speak. In fact, we could delve into another 15-20 events/conditions not even prevailing during 50-70 AD.

Lastly, with the amount of mocking you have consistently done of Jesus and his sheep, I seriously doubt any sane human being here (key description because some clearly are not) truly believes you have any relationship whatsoever to the risen Jesus.
