We should be like the SEC and schedule Wagner now to balance it out. Because it matters when you get those wins.

The November wins were purdue in 2020 and Indiana in 2021

There was a win against Illinois on October 30, 2021, which doesn’t count in this record.

when you look at that, it's bad.
Guess RU & Hobbs needs to go out and bring in someone that will do better.
I wonder if any RU HC proved better beating ranked programs since the Frank Burns era to G2.
I believe Flood was 0-4 so his fans won;t be able to claim Kyle was better.
Maybe RU not being considered a desirable program to play for over the years makes it hard to get the type of talent to come thatcan beat ranked programs on a constant bases and just winning enough to qualify for a bowl is the most RU fans can expect unless RU is willing to pay the price to hire someone good enough to do the job a lot of fans imply Schiano is incapable of doing.
Greg probably isn't one of the top HCs out there in the college football world, but he probably is the best that would accept what RU was willing to pay their HC and the type of support the RU HC could expect from the school.
Maybe instead of implying Schiano deserves all the credit for that 2-14
The Rutgers fanbase should consider ( because of the type of support RU FB gets compared to the better B1G programs and top programs all across the nation:
“The fault lies not in our stars (HCs), but in ourselves,”

There also was a year where MSU was ranked #11 when they played along with some games vs. Wisky and Iowa. Who had more talent when they played?

Schiano 2.0 only played Michigan state in November once . That was in 2002 and rutgers lost 27-21. MSU was not ranked
I am not sure of what point you are trying to make except it was a bad November loss

Why is this surprising?
I believe that 2.0 has not beaten a team with a winning record in his 4 years since his return. Edit- actually NW is currently a winning team so that might change.
Obviously we need to improve our depth by recruiting better, deeper, stronger talent and make sure our S&C program is on the same level as our B1G foes. This will ensure that we are capable of winning in November. [this and having an Offense that was worked out it’s schemes and performance by then).

You have to look at the schedule they have played in Nov. This year, they have played 2 top 10 type teams and and a top 20 team thus far. I think they have a tough game next week but at least they are not playing a top 5 national defense which will help.

Not having even one quality win in 4 years is terrible.

You realize depth is a struggling programs issue and it will rear its head at endbofvseason.

So the Ru november results should be no surprise to anyone paying attention. Would be unusual if nov schedule much different

you don't want that as Greg would be run out of town for being mediocre and not beating p5 teams with winning records. our fanbase is comfortable with what we have

Are you seriously saying that the fans deserve more credit for a team's record than the head coach/face of the program? ? I hope I'm reading this wrong.

Schiano owns that record, but the type of program he runs, just like every HC, is helped or hindered by how much support the school gives the program and of how the boosters support it.
Rutgers Football was a loser for years because the school didn't back the program like it should have after it moved from a mainly D-1AA schedule to playing D-1A teams.
When RU supported the program better, the result was a winning record and constant minor bowl games.
But Rutgers isn't in the top of line category and there's a talent gap between the better programs and Rutgers, making beating the best , maybe even the close to best, hard to do except occasionally.

But I can't give Greg a full pass because , though I believe he's a pretty good HC, his flaws on the offensive side probably contributed that dismal record.
His strength in the D side probably kept it from being worse.

I'm of the opinion, the more funds a program gets to help it succeed , the better the talent it will get to be a top program, under the right HC.
Schiano might not be one of the best, but he probably is the best at the price RU is paying
right now because of how much support it's willing to give the football program and the type of financial support the boosters give to the program.
Schiano owns that record, I just think with more invested in the program he'd have a hard time explaining why that record it is so bad

Whose comfortable? I think most fans are frustrated, but happy that we have at least gotten over one hump(bowl eligiblity), and now we need to build upon that. This would come by winning this weekend, then winning our bowl game. You could have paid someone $10 million(hyperbole) 4 year ago, but no one would have come to put out this dumpster fire. Schiano was the only one because he had been through it and had at least a plan to get back to “even”, which is why is asked for more than a 5 year contract. We would easily be able to find a coach now, because of what Schiano has done to rebuild this thing to this point. Let’s see what happens the rest of this season and next; if we sh@&t the bed next season, I’d be all in on looking for a new coach.
