Mount Airy Boys & Girls B-Ball are 3-0 both beating North Surry tonight . see SportsNut17 I kept up with BBall and FBall tonight
Both of those bb games went down to the wire with the boys going to ot. Exciting night
Games over moving on . LOL Plus Basketball will be on everyones minds now but 2 teams.

Congratulations to Mitchell for going further than any team in school history. Going to be a battle to stay close with WRH.
Congrats to Mitchell. Who in vegas would have picked them and bet for them to make the title game? I am glad for these kids to have this memory of the third place trophy in the state.lol
Everyone said the championship was played in Duplin County last night so I guess the 3rd place game was played in Mitchell County.

For anybody who couldn't make it last night, one of the Charlotte stations did a really good job with their highlight package. Takes you through the whole game with a narrative going, instead of just the couple of random plays and final score that we got on the local news here in the mountains.

Ok whatever. Mitchell has a shot. Albeit slim at best. Ive seen WRH, Mitchell and JK and the two down east last night are at a different level than anything else in 1a. Just are this year. Obviously anything can happen on a given day thats why they play. Congrats on all four teams for making it. I can promise you Mitchell fans one thing. For something to be so special - this is goi g to be the LONGEST week of your life! Saturday will seem like it takes a month to get here. Enjoy a special time for your kids.

That local coverage given by WLOS last night with only 2 teams in their whole region playing for a chance to go to the state championship was pitiful. They were at Mitchell the entire game and even filmed the trophy presentation, but on the news they literally only showed 2 plays and the score. I also get WBTV out of Charlotte and their football Friday night program is fantastic, still lasted an hour last night with limited regional games to show to fill the time, I guess their program has just spoiled me.
