I joined the search for Coach Turner. I am currently at the Radar Tower near Grassy Gap. I have my Jack Russel with me. I keep yelling "RIVER SIDE!!!" to see if he will work back towards me. I will update when I know more.

Camped out at the top of Callahan Creek. Got cold last night. Drank out ot the little lake here. I think I may have Giardia. Dog seems fine though. Coach T must be around here somewhere. I am running out of Vienna Sauasages.
Thats weird considering the average incubation/symptom start period from time of exposure of Giardia to symptoms is 1 to 2 weeks. You might be the first person on earth to drink from a Giardia containing source and have Giardia symptoms all within 24 hours.

There is no outcome for this whole thing except tragedy. I feel so sorry for the families, his and the alleged victim’s. And also for the players and other kids at his school. You know how most kids believe that teachers and coaches walk on water and are above reproach. And now they are hit with this and they don’t know what they can believe in anymore.

It may be a good idea for Wise County’s senior administrators along with the school administration to bring in a Public Information Officer or call in a favor to a College Sports Information Director to meet with the players of the program (no parents) and hold a short private (closed to the media/other members of the public) media training session.
The players will have to grow up quick and they should be ready. This is now an international story. And if the big domestic media types haven’t descended upon Wise County they sure will inevitably. Same with the international circus.

He has been charged and is now considered a fugitive that’s terrible for his family, team, and community. Hopefully, he’s found alive and has his day in court. If anyone helped him run, they need to be charged.

I don't know if I am the Riverheads guy referenced, but if I have anything to add to this discussion, it would be to say that somebody at Union, and I presume it is the assistant coach, has already done a great job dealing with this situation. It had to be a difficult task getting the team to focus Saturday and it may be even more so this Saturday. The players, parents and fans should not have to sacrifice the integrity of their season over this situation, so hats off to that coach for keeping their focus where it should be...on football.
P.S. I like the Riverheads posts. I wish there were more football posts from people like you at all the schools
