I guess my main question is how many of these kids that would have been recruited and it would have changed their families lives forever are being affected with all this mess? We do not think about 18 year old children that have devoted their entire lives to something when we want personal gain right? My son is a 10th grader and that is the only reason why I am even posting. You people need to turn back the clock and protect the next generation not just yours. These kids are suffering no matter what party you represent.
Just fyi, the flu usually keeps me down for 3 to 4 days at most. Covid was almost a 2 week ordeal with some issues still persisting at times.

Well the irony is that we’re on different sides of how to deal with this virus, we both got the virus, we experienced sounds like the same symptoms and now we’re thank God on the mend. So the virus evidently is bi-partisan.
I’m not a Democrat or Republican and have never voted a straight ticket in my life. But I don’t think AOC represents most Democrats any more than I believe that Trump represents most Republicans. Both parties need to stop playing to their fringe bases and represent what I believe most Americans want....civil dialogue on genuine issues where common ground can be found. Both parties act like spoiled children who will sacrifice our country just so they can claim to be right.

While I have some doubts about sports happening based on some of the things that I have heard this week, I am not sure the article posted is accurate. I dont see what in the Governors orders of Phase 3 can stop basketball from playing unless the Governor or NCHSAA changes restrictions. BBall teams across the state are now doing pre season workouts, and AAU Bball previously played around the state. Now as it stands now they could only have 25 people in the stands per game. But I believe that article is misguided, inaccurate, and meant to spark fear.
Maybe you haven’t seen where Cohen & Cooper have reached out to county officials to put restrictions back in place, because they plan to do it themselves and send us back into a lock down after the election. Get Cooper out of here.
Yes. I have seen that. However, I have not seen any counties doing what Cooper and Cohen asked in that letter. I may have missed it idk. Also, he may well change the orders and send us backwards. Thats why I said that based on what I have heard this week sports may not happen. But as it stands right now they still could.
Things like this article may not affect statewide, but certainly could sway local school boards.

I hate to say it but I think you will see some school boards start rethinking athletics.
If Cooper wins...he is gonna shut the state back down...the only reason he hasnt done it yet is because the election is tuesday...and he doesn't want to piss people off more than he has already. If u want sports vote for Dan...if u want to stay at home...not be able to find toilet paper for 2 weeks...and see some more small businesses close down that survived the first shut down vote for Cooper.
The article is accurate. I was told this week that if basketball practice began nov 4 instead of volleyball, they would NOT be practicing. The guidelines rule out the body to body stuff right now. It is a real possibility we could have the season pushed back (hopefully) or canceled, and football too.
And a new governor isnt gonna change things nov 4. He will have to take office and then work on it. Also, AAU playing is irrelevant to HS sports. PUBLIC Nc high schools are just not gonna buck the state guidelines. Will just NOT happen. Apples to oranges.
I feel like we still have time but not having a hoop or football season is a legit concern.

I know back in the late spring/early summer they released a document about sports, showing which ones were most/least dangerous and which ones could and shouldnt be played. But did not know they were law, or tied to the Governors orders.

Did my part.My sons last regular season high school game is tonight.Got 10 games in and playoffs start next. He was able to get 3 offers so far. NAIA school, Centre, and Grove City College. I’m sure getting Senior highlights has helped.

BK next week was supposed to be the Murphy VS Robbinsville game. This game most likely will now not happen. Makes me sad for both communities.

Wonder why the news media has not reported on basketball being postponed. If you google nchsaa covid 19 delays no reporting about basketball being pushed back again. There’s a lot about the amended calendar for the start back in July. Wonder why that’s not reported or at least showing up on google?
The article that Sportsnut17 posted indicates that the association won’t allow basketball games until at least January 4th.
I actually think this was the Doctor’s opinions, I do not believe NCHSAA has made any decisions other than what was reported a month or so ago. I do believe he consults and advises WSFCS.
The NCHSAA website indicates that the first games may be played 1/4/21. That part apparently is fact.
