Truthfully, I can't blame anyone who wants to drop out. How you spend your money is no one else's business. But, I am proud to be part of the problem. I will be back next year for my 34th straight year. I admit I am suffering from "football fatigue" right now but by the time summer rolls around I will be ready to go again. It is my alma mater, the school I have pulled for since I was 8 years old. It is MY school and I will support them until I can no longer physically do so. There is nothing wrong with being loyal to your team and school. The Monday after we lost to UL, I wore my UK shirt proudly. I always will! GO CATS!
My DIL ,a ul grad, thinks I own nothing that dosen't have UK on it[banana][banana]:smiley::sunglasses::sunglasses:

Reading this is really sad .... Mitch has gotten us on two years more probation. This Coach doesn't have the ability or even know how to get out of this mess. We are horrible at everything. Offense, defense & special teams. It's a friggin circus out there.

Looks like all the staff will be back heading in to year 4. We still won't have SEC lines on either side of the ball. I don't even want to go to those 4 hour night games even with free tickets and parking anymore.

I watch Narduzzi at Pitt Coach circles around Petrino in a half empty Pro Stadium and then the next week you watch Stoops and his band of Pop Warner Coaches...it makes you puke.

I'm not giving a cent until Barney & Stoops are gone in 2 years.

I can respect that. I'll just support them next year without any monetary obligation other than my satellite bill.

Let me just add this- I love football. I am a UK grad and was a season ticket holder at UK from 1996 through 2011. My family has been a season ticket holder of the Cincinnati Bengals since the 1980's which I took over exclusively in 2000. The significance of this is referenced below.

Why did I end my season tickets with UK?

There were a lot of reasons- but mostly I was unhappy with the direction of the program and the price of my seats. The last year I had season tickets at UK, I had far worse seats in Commonwealth Stadium than I had at Paul Brown Stadium for a much higher price. Yes, after paying the ticket price and the donation, my tickets were more expensive than my NFL tickets for worse seats. And, if you ever been to Paul Brown Stadium, you know the fan experience at Paul Brown Stadium is far greater than what you experience at UK (although to be fair UK has improved on this since 2011).

Since I ended my season tickets with UK, I've gone to every UK game I wanted to attend, with a parking pass, for far less than I would have paid for my season tickets with donation. In short, UK tickets are over-priced. Its so easy to get tickets for UK games for so little. You can even get a parking pass for a reasonable price (considering you aren't paying for a full season of tickets with donation).

I am concerned for my alma mater- the product is getting worse and the tickets are over-priced. If you don't believe me, try to sell your unused UK tickets.

How are they going to pay for those renovations?

We have 24 seats (2 dozen) on the 40 lower level with 3 blue lot passes and we are on the fence as to whether we are renewing. I have had the tickets in my name since '88. I was made a "UK Fellow" a few years back for exceeding $25K in donations. I am close to being done. I have two children that are currently at UK and the football games gives me a reason to spend the day with my kids and their friends 6-7 weekends out of the year, but I am so disappointed in the offensive play calling and if Dawson is back, and it looks as if he will be, I'm probably out and I will never purchase season tickets again. I will go to an occasional game but my donations will cease. I turned 50 this year and my emotional investment and disappointment has taken its toll and most of the time its isn't fun or enjoyable when the game ends. I'm planning retirement and I always worried about moving to FL and that would mean missing UK games in the fall which I have been going to for decades, but this will possibly give me a clean break. I will always watch and pull for my Cats, but it will most likely be from the comfort of my own home.

Got $20 for 4 good tickets and a blue parking pass for the Louisville game! That pretty well sums up where we are as a football program! Sad!

Sad you say ? But VERY true. UK has run up a huge bill on renovations, improvements, etc. Read this thread and tell me how all of that's going to work out when a large portion of fans quit buying tickets and stop going to the games. I'm not proud or happy about any of this but Stoops will turn out as the straw that broke the camel's back. The fans (including those on this board) aren't bluffing. The staff is awful, the team is bad, and the stadium will be half empty. But boy oh boy can that con artist recruit.

season ticket holder who is also on the fence about next year. all the slow night games meaning getting home usually about 2;30 am,, very disappointing performance on the field and on the sidelines AGAIN this year but really the thing that sticks in my crawl is the fact that one of our most talented WR seemed to think it was funny that we were getting absolutely embarrassed by a very young Tennessee team! I was settin in the stands thinking, man I am up yelling and cheering for this team game after game and this kid thinks its funny when we get smashed. I just don't know if I want to be a part of it, cannot understand why the coaches keep rolling the kid out there. This type of display happened numerous times by the same player!

I like the way you started your post but I think you unfairly went negative. Appears you're a bright person that got a law degree from UK and you love the school no matter what. You have that right and I respect it. However; a lot of fans (myself included) feel like Stoops is a bogus coach that doesn't have the ability to put air in a football much less try to coach it. I love UK basketball and I'm not ashamed to admit it. I've tried to follow and support the football team as well. I don't have a law degree but I'm not stupid and I'm finally done spending money on the football program. I'm finished and if enough fans would walk away then the day may come when the administration may do what's necessary to get you the winning program you deserve.

Thanks for replying. I see what your saying. As a Chicagoan, people have been having this debate about the Cubs for years. I get both sides of it. I just think of the kids playing, and that they represent our university and deserve our support. I hate the thought of our guys taking the field with the place half empty.

Also, I think part of my feeling comes from my Alma Mater being a AA school (Western Illinois) and that I also went to and taught at a MAC school. (Western Michigan) Maybe that helps me lower expectations in my mind.

Everybody of course has an absolute right to put their hard earned money into entertainment that they enjoy.

I go to spend time with friends and family but the football has been so bad for so long it is almost unbearable to watch any more. We ended the last two games of the season at home and at a sports bar. I had a better time, it was cheaper, and my anger/frustration level wasn't as high. I hate to say it but Commonwealth has become bad for my wallet and health. Probably won't be back until UK decides to make it worth the time and money I have spent for the last 25 years. I'm getting angry as I type this. Wish I could stop giving a damn about UK football!!

I believe I've already mentioned that you appear to be very smart. After reading your post you sound VERY smart. I sincerely hope you get to see a quality football team someday soon. I admire your resolve but I can't hang in there with you until I see major changes. Excellent post.

This was my ninth year with season tickets. I have enjoyed some huge wins, but I have also seen a lot of bad football (not as much as some of you, but still a great deal). I am on the fence. I love the Cats with all my heart and truly enjoy Saturdays at CWS. But the Vandy and Louisville games this year were some of the worst football I have witnessed in 20+ years of following college sports. If asked to renew today I would probably say no. Maybe come April I will feel different. But if the very plausible scenario of 4-8 or 3-9 plays out next fall, I'm definitely out at that point.

If you "truly enjoy Saturdays at CWS", then I would renew.

With so many games being relegated to night time, it makes for an 18 hr day for me. That's the biggest reason I'm not renewing, however if we were a major player in the SEC, it would make it more worth it.
