60% completion rate is nothing special. Averaging 22.5 yds per game rushing doesn't scare anyone either.
DCs know how to shut him down now. I don't see Briles totally remaking him as a player, which is what is needed. He is an athlete playing QB, like most HS teams do. Unfortunately, college defenses are full of athletes too.
I wonder if the answer isn't finally having a real OC to remake him, but an OC to just run an offenst that fits his strengths?
The best job a college OC can do, imo, is not necessarily adapt the players to his offense, but to adapt the offense to the player.
