Jans deserves another year to get things right, but has to do a better job of talent evaluation in the portal. He needs a full analytics staff.

It’s crazy how obsessed you are with firing Lebby. Buckle up, we’re gonna be just good enough to retain him. 6+ wins.
POTUS, what sec wins do you see that would produce a 6-6 record ? I’m not seeing it

We have 2 very likely wins, 5 very likely losses, and 5 games that could go either way (Minnesota, South Carolina, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Auburn).

I haven't seen any sign that Lebby is the kind of coach who can go 4-1 in the tossups, but I guess it's possible. I'm also not sure that a couple of those are really "tossups" either, but more like "well maybe we could win them but probably won't"-type games.

It’s crazy how some of you consider Jans and Lenny are in the same atmosphere.

And we’re going 3-9. When that Minnesota loss happens, reality will set in.

How many wins did you see last year? Most everyone was saying 3-9. We won 5. The way rosters flip I just don’t see how anyone can say with any certainty what any team will do. I think it’s just as reasonable to expect moderate improvement as it is that we fall back.

1-7/0-8 was the expectation and the result, again which sec games do you see as wins. Arkansas isn’t on the schedule.

But "most everyone" would have said 5-7 if they'd known that Florida would be horrible, Arkansas would be horrible, Arizona State and Tennessee and Missouri would all finish unranked, and Texas would be very vulnerable with Arch sucking for much of the season. We didn't exceed expectations because we were better than we thought (in fact, we finished last in the SEC again in FPI and only 8 ranks higher than last year), we exceeded them because the schedule wasn't nearly as brutal as we thought.

Maybe that will happen again in 2026 and we'll get lucky with the schedule, but that's not going to be something that happens often.

And some claim he's been looking to get out of here? If true A) Why if you're Jans? He's robbing us blind, and B) Please get the hell out of here now, Jans. What a freaking horrible ROI.
I believe he's in his 4th year. If he gets 5 as someone above suggested, he'll have gotten almost $25M from MSU. That's a pretty expensive experiment.

I don't know what makes anyone think we underachieved last year. That wasn't a great team by any stretch. Jans has gone to three straight tournaments. He'll have to miss that many before they think about letting him go.

Like it or not, making the tourney is the goal here. Anything after that is cake.

Oh goody, really looking forward to another year of winning our crappy out of conference games and 2 or 3 of the weaker conference games. How many years of free passes does he get?

I agree with your overall point, but no way he survives a second year like this one. “What have you done for me lately?”

Are you joking right now? 6 wins is absolutely not good enough to retain him. No way in hell.

You fire a dude for going 5-7 in year 1, and tell his replacement he’s all good for 4+ years if he just does 1 game better by end of Year 3? Pure nonsense.

All that money for a coach who has never produced a winning record in the SEC and has a .426 winning percentage in conference. For comparison, Howland had two winning SEC seasons and a .500, and he won at a .459 clip in the SEC. I don't know why Jans is getting a pass from some of our fans, but it needs to stop. He is and has been very average, especially for what he is getting paid. Fix it or get out.

Agree with you on what should happen. Disagree on what will happen. Lebby will get year 4 barring a 3-9 season, which is possible.

Well in his defense your probably haven’t seen your d!ck in a few years. So i wouldn’t trust your eyesight…
Those two specific medical conditions you mention do not appear to be related.

Are you trying to say he’s nearsighted / blind, or just fat?
