I didn’t know he was eligible for another year. Well it helps to have at least one upperclassmen guard that is not new to the program. Although I doubt he can be a Deuce, JC, or Dax level player for us.
Decent defender. Hope they do not rely on him to be the starting PG next season. McNeil also has 1 season left but I think he moves on or goes Euro.

10 new players coming and possibly Huggins final season.

McNeil definitely failed to improve from last season and I think was actually a little worse. His hot shooting games could be useful next year, but as seen this year, it rarely moves the W/L column. So he has likely reached the ceiling for his game and it's not a big loss since he couldn't continue the levels play he had in the post season last year. If he goes I don't think WVU loses much.

WVU doesn't exactly run sets for shooters either but I'm not sure that would have helped him much. All teams did was put a tall guy on him. They didn't even have to be good defenders just stand in front of him.

It also didn't help that he would always seem to give you around 10 points per game. When you looked back at the box score you'd think "How? I don't remember."

Still, the biggest problem is that while he always seemed to give you 10 he also always gave up at least 20 with his shoddy defense and slow feet.

I bet next year will be Huggs final year. These coaches who have been in it for a long time are struggling with the portal years. And it won' t be getting better with the NIL added to that.

Maybe I'm reading in to it a bit, but Huggs always praised Bridges. With him going in to the portal may be a sign that Huggs isn't sticking around. Maybe I'm wrong.

Would not surprise at me all.
