Seriously. Let's wait til Stans has a losing record before we talking firing......
If we are to be "good" next year, you really need to define good. Is good win the West good, or is it make the big dance good? We are going to be as good as our coaching staff is, and that's not very good in my opinion. Hot damn we finished second in the weakest division in a not so good conference this year when we had much better talent then everyone in our division. We give up the most points in our conference while starting 3 seniors, a junior, and a fat, lazy McD's AA. One of the seniors is a solid inside player, does a decent job..KA, the other is shoot first, rarely pass, and play no defense what so ever, and the other is a solid player that is not aggressive enough offensively. Do we know if Fat Boy or Dee are coming back?
Our coaching staff has no back bone. What I mean, is that they don't demand hard, tough defense, they don't demand hustle, and they allow it this **** to happen instead of benching them to make their point. No respect because there is no discipline, and if any of you accept that, then this program will never be mentioned as a top tier program in the conference, or top 30 program in the country. Stans used to demand defense and rebounding, where has it been the last few years? You can't blame the players. They play the way their coach allows them to play. You can't blame lack of talent. They're Stans boys, and at the end of the day he's accountable for the entire program.
I am not a detractor, I don't complain about winning at all, but I will always criticize lack of effort, poor fundamentals, discipline, and respect in all of the big 3 at MSU. The problem, that we as a fanbase have at MSU, is that we put the coach first and the program second. Several on this board think that Stans can do no wrong, and in fact that they are happy with what he has done this year, but yet the national media still take shots at Sidney and Stans. Why is that? It might be because they have no respect for the way Stans is running the program or has handled Sidney. We came in second in a division we were picked to win, and had to do it in the last week of conference play. I hope you are right about us being better next year, but the odds of that happening are slim at best.
