Why does this happen every year? Are we not making NIL payments on time and kids are claiming "General Soreness?"

It's every summer that Holloway has been coach there are injuries/excuses that kids can't practice together.

Injuries have been a big deal during Sha's tenure. A lot has to do with how he practices and how had he expects his players to play defense. This can be a shock to new players of which we have 11.

Godswill has had foot problems since HS and had surgery in the Spring. Hopefully holding him out is precautionary and he hasn't had a setback.

Parker is concerning because he's a potential X-factor with scoring ability as a shooter and athlete.

The other 2 aren't surprising as they have been limited in practice much of the Summer.

But overall it hurts to have 4 guys out, especially with Sha wanting to play 10+ guys.

I said it on the Trove but I am Shocked that this information was released. Sha doesn't usually share anything with the Press about injuries.

Sha seems to have injuries on his team for some reason. Last year's team was plagued by many of them. At least this is happening right before a cupcake schedule. Last year it happened in the heart of the season.

Well kids will get plenty of minutes to showcase what they can do, lots of 3 and maybe 4 guard sets.

Players are so soft nowadays. It’s truly ruining sports. But they also do it because they want to have a built-in excuse of “I’m playing hurt” for why they suck. All nonsense

Sha said in the media day interview that Rivera broke his hand and hadn’t practiced in awhile.

Last year we began the season without Okorafor and Coleman. And Harmon played 2 minutes after missing a lot of practice time.

Wow. This post is a strong candidate for a cynicism award.
If you think it doesn’t happen then you aren’t paying attention or don’t want to believe it….

Just last week it was revealed Terry Rozier removed himself from a game after 9 minutes with a fake injury for his gambling business. I’m not saying our players are doing that. But in general there’s a ton of fake injuries throughout sports for a variety of reasons.

That's different. He allegedly feigned an injury for money.

You said because they want to have a built-in excuse of “I’m playing hurt” for why they suck.

We lost Harmon and we lost Jenkins for most of the season, 1 for sure, maybe 2 huge losses

Every team gets plagued by injury at some time or another.
I was about to say this. It varies year to year, we just appreciate it more because its the Hall and we don't follow others as closely. There were teams that were top seeds in the NCAA tourney last year that had significant injuries to depth and/or starters.

True, but Harmon was a major, major wildcard even before the injury. I don't fault Sha for taking the kid, because he clearly has some talent, but he's had a major red flag associated with him forever. And when you take kids like that, you often find out that Zebras don't change their stripes.

Even with those two, we go from 2 wins to maybe 4 or 5, at most.

Rivera and Suemnick.
Godswill is fine. This is precautionary. Jerry said previously that he was among the leaders in wind sprints at open practice he attended. Minor injury and precautionary, I would say from Jerry's post and from Godswill's own words when I spoke to him at the Beefsteak.

Among the others, hoping Parker is going to be ready soon because he's an electric player with real talent - Sha said one of the best athletes he has coached.

Saw all of these guys at the Beefsteak - no one in a boot or cast. All smiles. I would reserve negativity until required. All teams have injuries. Let's reserve judgment until Monday night.

The article said Parker has been back at practice so he may play.

The Godswill foot could be just precautionary pending the doctors appointment on 11/7. So it may have been decided months ago that he wouldn't be released for game play until seeing doctor for final approval on the 7th. But it's a little puzzling that he started both super-secret scrimmages if he wasn't fully released.

We'll see.

Just an FYI. Godswill will probably be out at least a couple of weeks.
