Well theres 8 minutes to go and Shelby is leading 50-13

Coach G from Kinston said they were going to STOP the Rush and the Pass.... Didn't quite work out...

Anyway, they have a very athletic defensive front, but they are no match for the Speed of Shelby

Congrats Kinston on a great season

Yeah SHS for the most part they played outstanding all game... Defense was flying around having a ball as was the offense...

The guys from the East were right, they were weak down there this year. SWE98 hoped his team was going to have a shot at Shelby. Lol

Easterners won't admit this, but it's becoming like it traditionally was years back, they're stronger in basketball, the west is stronger in football.

I was interested to see in the playoffs against 2a teams during our 3 titles how we scored (Playoffs Only)

We scored 613 points in the 15 total games for an average of 41 per game

Our 2a opponents in those 15 games scored 215 total points for an average of 14 per game

What an outstanding run these kids have been on the last three seasons .....

SHS Lion, Way to go y'all, completing the three-peat. I know Shelby Lion is excited and even 65 Lion might stay up a little later than usual. Hats off to Shelby football, again.

Congratulations from From Forest Hills.......hope our new coach gets us back on the right track. Like to see FH play Shelby again. Lions have a 2-1 advantage on us in 3 meetings.

Congrats Shelby.....never thought for a split second it wouldn't be a 3-peat. I been watching high school football for 45 yrs and don't know that I've seen a more explosive offense.

Best offense to ever come through IMO. Will be hard to find another group this talented at Shelby. Next year will be a solid offense but the defense should be loaded.

Hitman mentioned best offense to come through Shelby and numbers don't lie! Shelby statman sent out the final season information and this team broke a lot of Shelby records ... Thanks for the hard work Jim and Bob do for the team

Rushing yards : 2239 yard 27 touchdowns
Passing yards : 5094 yards 69 touchdowns
Total yardage: 7333 yards or 458 ypg

Lee had 4526 passing on the year and 60 Td passes

104 total touchdowns scored on the season including everything from passing rushing returns etc

We scored 733 points this season which is 46 ppg

Congrats Shelby. Team is too fun to watch. Monroe vs. Shelby is one of those debates that will go on forever. Hate those two couldn't play

Defense only losing 1.5 starters....9.5 will return with several players waiting in the wings to fill those two voids. (0.5 Is Borders...he started on DL but we had a rotation there with some JRs). Hawk was a nice addition on defense but missed a lot of the season with a broken ankle. Defense next year should be like the defense of Crest last year. Should be a lot of fun....defense wins championships. Have to replace 3 OL, QB, and 2 WR. Borders will be back as will Brooks.....should be a lot of fun again next year! 16-0 and 4peat would be nice!

Call me crazy, but it just dawned on me that yall actually have 2 State Champion football teams in the same town, same year....that speaks VOLUMES! All the joking and wisecracking aside, that is really something! Gained a new respect for the city of Shelby.

The schools are about 4 to 5 miles apart (Shelby and Crest) used to have brothers coaching each school in Jim Taylor (Shelby) and John Taylor (Crest) Been a great rivalry over the years....

Crest and Shelby both won it last year and again this year... KM was within a game of making the state title game this year in 3a....

There has been several instances where Two county teams played in the title game in the same year and numerous state title chances in this county over the years....

That's quite an accomplishment. ..and the only way I noticed it was because the Crest team is coached by my high schools ex offensive coordinator. 4-5 miles apart....man, a kid can't go wrong either way can he?

If Tom had 10 or more transfers from Catwaba County that came to East Burke it wouldn't matter. He would still lose to Crest and Shelby every year. Shelby had East Burke 55-6 at the half and the two transfers Shelby had were out with injuries.

Their size would present us some problems. If I had to guess they would probably be 14 to 17 points better. Really hard to tell.
