Yup, something about hearing the games through the woods perked my interest.
One of the most embarrassing losses in many years happening in Lawndale... completely dominated, ... when they got rolling there wasnt a thing we could do to stop it. You can even hear it in Coach Jones voice throughout.. he knows... ha ha ha ha...

Don’t get mad, at beginning of year y’all said this Shelby team was maybe best in all the state. Maxpreps had them too 5 in all of NC. It’s ok y’all lost in the second round. No shame in that if Burns wins it all. But If they don’t ….. just keep that same energy if Reidsville wins it all and beats burns along the way. Not saying we will not saying we won’t. Got some tough matchups ahead.

Y’all win it all, I would give sincere props, but sleep on Burns, if you want to. They have no weaknesses, and they have size. Thought you’d have more respect for Cleveland County by now.

I never said they were top 5 or best in state. No 2a team ever almost would be considered best overall in state. I also never said we sleeping on anybody. Every game is tough at this point. But also any time Reidsville has won ever y’all say they had a cake walk and things went their way. Things always goes the way for state champs or any champions that’s how they become champions lol I can’t say we going to win it all. But I won’t be shocked if we do. You do have a yearly cake walk to a #1 seed.
We didn’t have the 1 seed last season. Shelby had the cake walk to earn that. We also had a tougher schedule than most this year that’s why we got the 1 seed. The new formula for seeding is best it’s ever been. I don’t think we have had 1 seed in last few seasons actually

Yea but its only 2nd year with new format. Regardless it’s the same teams at or near the top. At some point just gotta give it up. In earlier 2000s rams had hard as crap schedule and went on to win many titles. Seeds don’t matter anyway in HS. The better team will win 99 percent of time.
It does for the fans wanting to go to game lol and not wanting to drive 3 hours. I for one enjoy a road game in a playoff run.

Welcoming rival Shelby for a 2A West second-round playoff football game, the opportunity to continue its pursuit of state gold was more than enough. That was, until Golden Lions players stomped on Burns’ midfield logo prior to kickoff.

There was something to be said about this in the first game also….so they made it a point to come out and try to get under our skin before the game even thought about getting going. Ol willbanks was right there with them around the logo too!
