The empire has always preferred radical Islam to secular nationalism in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia has done more for the spread of radical Islam than any country in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia is a huge ally to the US and Britain. We sell billions in arms to Saudi Arabia. And let them do whatever the eff they want. Take it up with every administration post WW2. You're out of luck if you're expecting this to change or this government to change courses in regards to radical Islam and the Middle East.

Is it the time for you to actually research gun deaths from rifles or do anything other than rely on "common sense"?

Look up the Australian response to the Port Arthur massacre.

They have largely curtailed mass shootings and, to a lesser extent, gun violence with their response in a country that is about as identical to the U.S. as you can find for a comparable.

Nothing is perfect but we are going to see more and more mass shootings with military grade weaponry that is legally available to the population with almost no regulation.

And, frankly, we are all idiots for letting it happen.

I mean, honestly, did we not expect Islamic and other extremists to start eventually going down to Bud's and picking up an AR, a Glock, and $1500 worth of ammo and mags at some point? The writing has been on the wall. And it will get much worse.

Billy Joe Wildcat doesn't need an AR and neither does Omar el Whatever.

Lol. Of course- I'll hold my tongue til the next one. It's the same thing every time with you people. It's never the time.

No one needs a damn assault rifle besides the cops and military. No one.

You people? Have you ever seen me take a stance on automatic weapons? You have no idea what my position is on automatic weapons...I'm not even sure where I stand, thus the thread I posted. And I don't find anything about this that would prompt me to "Lol" nor try to advance my own political agenda this soon after the bloodshed. Horrific tragedy.

Maybe, just maybe Trump is crazy enough to give them an ultimatum. End it or we will....and you won't be around to see it.

Again, this is something that seems true on the surface (i.e common sense says more assault weapons = more mass shootings), but doesn't hold up to any scrutiny.

Most of these arguments depend on definitions of assault rifle and mass shooting. But using FBI definitions, overall murder trends are declining and have been doing so for decades and rates of mass shootings are relatively the same since 1980. Mass shootings make up such a tiny percentage of murders that it's hard to even gauge trends. 1 or 2 shootings more than average in a year can make it appear like a massive spike.

It should also be noted that rifles of any type account for less than 1% of all murders in the US.

IS came to be under Obama and Hillary being more concerned with political correctness than being honest with the American people. If the U.S. Doesn't get its head out of its *** it is doomed.

Wake up.

Well in his defense ISIS wasn't as known worldwide until Obama and Hiliary.

Bottom line is bring our boys home and secure our country. Then maybe these people will not hate us so much for always being involved in their country.

We don't like them f'n with ours so leave them alone!

Dear Democrat leaders, when you are willing to say the word "radical Islam" or "Islamic terrorists" I will be willing to listen to what you have to say on this matter.

Their Sunni connection to ISIS, their connection to 911, their connection to OPEC at a time when their policies to destroy oil production in America and elsewhere has failed and as a result, their influence in OPEC has in some eyes been diminished, is all very interesting and not a coincidence.

Actually, Australia's gun ownership has been back to pre buy out levels for a few years now so, it is not the lack of guns that is keeping them safer.

A few thoughts:
1. We don't need AR15s or any other automatic/assault weapons - however you want to call them.
2. Islam is not a religion of peace. That's complete horse **** and we know it.
3. The radical Muslims are coming for us and the west is finished if we don't get a handle on this!
4. The people on the political fence better wake up. We need to circle the wagons, get Immigration under control or the American way of life will go the way of the Dodo.

Ok, I feel better...

First time in the history of civilization did a person afraid of tyranny or foreign oppression pick his first strategic point by disarming himself and his people of their best strategic weapon.

Think about that. o_O

Not sure what county in Kentucky you are from, but almost every family in the county where I grew up had a healthy collection of guns. And in the decades my family has lived there, there have been very few gun crimes I ever heard of. So Billy Joe Wildcat having guns doesn't appear to be a big problem.

You'll have one side of the aisle wanting to ban Muslims. It's the religion, not the guns.

The other side of the aisle will want to ban the guns. It's the guns, not the religion.

As usual, the correct answer is somewhere in the middle, but the extreme sides have no desire to meet there. So nothing will happen either way.

I've never heard of an gun that was zealous.

The correct answer is that we're at war and can't bring ourselves to say it.

so Democrats don't say the right words together but Donald Trump gets a pass for everything he says or has said.

If we're ever going to win this we need the more advanced Muslims to win this war. The US can't do it, it just creates even more terrorists. So go ahead and alienate the entire Muslim population by banning them and putting them into camps(something Trump has shown support for!); I'm sure they're more than willing to help. If you think the US just lets any Muslim into the country now without knowing who they are will just believe anything.

After 9/11 this country has had very few attacks compared to the rest of the world. More reporting on it for sure, but I bet if you compare the numbers, we're near the bottom. Access to weapons is a much bigger problem. It is just way too easy for people to get guns these days. I'm sure continuing to do nothing will improve the problem.

I do find it ironic that the two groups who love killings gays are Islamic Extremists and the conservative right wing.
