First off, Muschamp has the emotional maturity of a 5-year-old. That's not helping. In Year 1, fans may love your "passion" but by Year 3, fans get sick of that act.
I think it's always 50-50 when someone who's never been a head coach is given a HC job at a "major" program. Every HC says the thing they realize, early, is how much their job is not related to coaching any more. And, when you bring in a guy who has to learn on the job at a high-profile job like Florida, it has to be tough. Plus, like a lot of guys who haven't been a HC, Muschamp has still tried to be the unofficial D-Coordinator. It's not impossible, but doesn't work many times.
And, again, the guy looks like a moron on the sidelines with all his emotional outburst. If I was a Gator fan, that crap would wear thin real quick - and I wonder if it doesn't wear on his assistants and players even more quickly since they have to be around it every day. Bo Pelini acted like that for a year or two until Tom Osborne pulled him aside and he's chilled out quite a bit. I don't think anyone's done that for Muschamp. That stuff is okay when you're an assistant but when you're stomping around and throwing your headphones 20 times a game, you look like an immature ***.
