Miami 30
Rutgers 27…

Still a pessimist based on Miami’s talent level, but it will be the closest game we’ve ever played against them regardless of the outcome.

I worry that we are too easy to defend, and have an extremely limited air-offense. This is not a GW attack - we have been scoring an average of 8-9 points a game the last 4-5 weeks of the season. It’s the whole offensive line and receiver limitations that don’t bode well - but I do believe our hearts are in it and we won’t leave anything on the field. I’m not sure how excited the Hurricanes will be on Thursday. However, our D should be as good as Miami or better IMO.

The question is: does our SOS versus the ACC define our destiny? Is the B1G a tougher place to get wins? I believe so. We need to wear them down and take advantage of those missing players and control the trenches. If we sit back all day and never put any pressure on their QB, I worry they’ll take advantage there.

My heart says a W but my head says a L…

Re: SOS

If you look at the final BCS rankings we played:

1, 7, 10 and 17 (3 in last 4 weeks)

Miami played:

5, 15 and 18 (3 of last 4 weeks)

As always, I reserve the right to modify my prediction as we get closer to game time.

You know what is so weird to me...it is just strange for fans of a team(when the game is not an obvious blowout) that they would ever be predicting a loss.

I don’t think it’s weird . It’s a prediction thread.

Take the nfl, for example. Most nfl games are toss ups. By that logic everyone would be predicting undefeated seasons

Could be true, but predicting a Rutgers win in one bowl game isn't the same as a nfl fan predicting his favorite NFL team will go undefeated because most NFL games are toss ups.
I'd say there are some RU fans will predict losses because they are afraid to think of Rutgers as a winner and when they post about the team, that post will tend to be in the negative side , also finding ways to make positives into negatives

So true.
I've often wondered if it's just a Rutgers thing.

But there were times RU had HCs that won more then they lost
So Rutgers being a loser for the last 100 years isn’t exactly true, but if one wants to put down the program they can bring up overall record of 672–696–42

But these RU HCs proved Rutgers will be winners under the right HC
William A. Reynolds (1891): 8-6
F. H. Gorton (1906-07): 8-7-3
Howard Gargan (1910-12): 12-10-4
George Foster Sanford (1913-23): 56-32-5
J. Wilder Tasker (1931-37): 31-27-5
John R. Steigman (1956-59): 22-15
John F. Bateman (1960-72): 73-51
Frank Burns (1973-83): 78-43-1

even under the wrong one , RU can win
(if the moon meets your eye like a big tomato pie)
Kyle Flood (2012-15): 27-24

Glad you feel Rutgers is good enough. 👌

Bateman and Burns were damn good. But it was a different world for Rutgers football back then.
No running the gauntlet of Ohio State, Pedd State, and Iowa. Back then it was Bucknell, Princeton, and Colgate. Completely different world.

Ok just stunk at big time football.

But we have our hall of fame coach and best team in years. Time to stomp the candy canes
