Bateman and Burns were damn good. But it was a different world for Rutgers football back then.
No running the gauntlet of Ohio State, Pedd State, and Iowa. Back then it was Bucknell, Princeton, and Colgate. Completely different world.
Different world or not, under Dr John and Burns: Rutgers was a winner.
So saying Rutgers was a loser for the last 100 years wasn't exactly right.

Nowadays running the gauntlet of Michigan, Ohio State, & Pervert State U has to be overcome in order to have a winning B1G record, but even playing those tough opponents: Rutgers can come out with a winning season if it loses all those games.
I just hope the OOC schedule has thee type of games the nay-sayers can't use to poo poo
what Rutgers accomplishes when it goes bowling.

The one thing often forgotten with our current HC … he has an extended coaching tree developing. HC PJ Fleck. HC Mario Cristobal, OC Kyle Flood HC , HC Jeff Hafley, DC Joe Rossi and there are and will be many more much to the chagrin of some Rutgers posters.

Nowadays running the gauntlet of Michigan(Pervert U- maybe even number 1 - Dr. Robert Anderson), (pervert U #3 -Dr. Richard Strauss.) , & Pervert State U (Sandusky) has to be overcome in order to have a winning B1G record, but even playing those tough opponents: Rutgers can come out with a winning season if it loses all those games.

I think RU will very much like to prove their worthiness in this game. I don’t think Miami will have quite the same mindset. With the many Miami opt outs for this, RU will have a solid chance, in fact RU is now listed as a 2.5 pt favorite. I’ll go:

RU- 24. Miami - 20.

If Rutgers stays on point they can definitely win this game. To many it’s a meaningless game the reality is it a great game to win going into 2024x.
