Last night’s event in Oxford was already booked before the Kirk assassination. That is all.
Agreed. It’s a giant nothing.Bond should not have wrote that.
Political stuffWhy the fook did that get locked anyway? I want @615dawg to explain his ridiculous opinion. I'm guessing it's just a troll job.
My ridiculous opinion is that Starkville sucks and holds MSU back. Its not a conservative/liberal thing - its how the rest of the country perceives us.Why the fook did that get locked anyway? I want @615dawg to explain his ridiculous opinion. I'm guessing it's just a troll job.
That's the dumbest 17ing thing to rage over. Like totally 17ing stupid. My ridiculous opinion is that Starkville sucks and holds MSU back. Its not a conservative/liberal thing - its how the rest of the country perceives us.
Ole Miss and Oxford has gotten more positive press in the last 12 months than State has in my lifetime. Sports success, Mostly norma, beautiful people representing the school, a reality show that showed Oxford is incredible, etc. And they are about to make the CFP playoffs while we are on a 16-game SEC losing streak that hopefully can end this week when we play another winless team.
Mississippi State does not have a viable TPUSA chapter. One exists but they don't meet, they don't do anything. Ole Miss showed out last night - and for those who say "50% of people are turned off by that," - if those people stay away, it will make Oxford and Ole Miss even better.
There is no inferiority complex. I hate those shitbirds as much as anyone. But I dont sugar coat things - we are being beaten badly in the PR game. And the enrollment cliff is approaching. We're going to have some issues and we have a lot of debt. That's the dumbest 17ing thing to rage over. Like totally 17ing stupid.
Success for Ole Miss and Oxford does not make Mississippi State and Starkville look bad. If you feel that way you've got some serious soul searching to do for that inferiority complex.
Like I said, rent freeMy ridiculous opinion is that Starkville sucks and holds MSU back. Its not a conservative/liberal thing - its how the rest of the country perceives us.

You must be surrounded by a bunch of ole miss fans and you’re coming here to vent about your ole miss buddies messing with you. The event last night may have been a big deal in some circles but it’s likely not the big deal you’re making it out to be. I’ve not had one person tell me how great that event at ole Miss was until I saw it here. Probably cause I hang out with a crowd that does not really care about it.My ridiculous opinion is that Starkville sucks and holds MSU back. That's fine. Keep your head in the sand. Hopefully we end our 16 game SEC losing streak this week and get some positive news.John Bond and 615 were both retarded in the locked thread and they still are in this one too.

Also… I looked into the “Ole Miss searches increased last night” claim on trends.google.com and at first glance, that appears to be correct. Here is the Google trends chart over the past 24 hours. Note the spike last night.

Pretty impressive, right? Ok, well look at that a little more in depth. Where did all of this newfound interest come?
Mississippi.

More specifically, Oxford, MS.

So, realistically, any “bounce” was largely on the backs of those already faithful to the Confederacy.
Now, let’s zoom out a little bit and look at the last week of activity on the search term “Ole Miss” and you can see how this spike compares against a college football Saturday.

Not even on the same planet.
This isn’t the coup for Ole Miss some are pretending and, even if it was, it’s not the black eye for Starkville some idiots are claiming.

But what about the coming enrollment cliff and their long-term debt - how is that looking?I am on Oxford today. Off topic, they got some good food spots just like Starkville. I was on campus and off. I have heard two conversations about last night. Both was older people not in college. Every college student I have overheard was talking football, girls, lunch, class. That’s FormerBully live report.
Update, I actually heard a frat guy say earlier that the one good thing if Lane leaves is less competition. Haha If it wasn’t for UM Lane would be a national hero.I am on Oxford today. Now it all makes sense. I think you and Bond might be happier on ED along with those other clowns who care about such things.I hate those shitbirds as much as anyone.
Been hearing this shlt forever. And if it does come, it's going to affect everyone. We are in as good of a shape as anyone in that regard - an affordable, public SEC school. We'll be fine. And the enrollment cliff is approaching. We're going to have some issues and we have a lot of debt.
I'll save you the money of being diagnosed, here's your problem. Read the fine print, you are welcome, now give it a rest since you know what it is.....My ridiculous opinion is that Starkville sucks and holds MSU back. I have heard this more than once and generally want to know.... how does Starkville (I assume political powered people) hold Mississippi State University back?My ridiculous opinion is that Starkville sucks and holds MSU back. Well, Starkville HAS held MSU back in the past, along with other things. But that time is gone. I could see his argument in 1997. Sooner or later we have to just accept the issues we have and start doing the best we can, and that's what's we've been doing for 20 years or so.I have heard this more than once and generally want to know.... how does Starkville (I assume political powered people) hold Mississippi State University back?
While they may be very close neighbors, each has its own governing body. It seems to me, Mississippi State University may be limited by the surrounding talent pool for employees, students, activities etc, but not so from larger policy making for the University.
You mentioned TPUSA. If State doesn't have much on campus participation that is a Mississippi State issue. Another example, OM embraces the Greek life and everything about it to enhance out of state students and student participation. Mississippi State, if you've ever been to a prospective student tour, mentions Greek life as some afterthought or disassociated club.
The spotlight shining bright on OM recently has mostly to do with football.

Not a big deal at all in 99% of circles and will be forgotten before the first kick Saturday morning. You must be surrounded by a bunch of ole miss fans and you’re coming here to vent about your ole miss buddies messing with you. I actually understand the premise of 615’s original post which relates to the type of student each school attracts. The Old Row frat kids are going to be behind TPUSA. With us not having a frat scene that’s worth mentioning, we don’t have the same type of student body. He’s saying their frat scene and kids over time have become adults and have reinvested into Oxford better than our graduates. And he’s right. He’s not wrong and it’s something that we have to fix. The out of state student and a strong frat scene go hand in hand.I have heard this more than once and generally want to know.... how does Starkville (I assume political powered people) hold Mississippi State University back?

Worst take ever. Your contention that most players are liberal is so unsubstantiated, specially in the south. Read a recruiting statement from a recruit, more than not, they thank God, their family and friends for their good fortune. BTW, half the country is conservative if voting is an indicator of social temperature. Learn before you type.Ole Ms having a really strong TPUSA chapter might be a negative for them actually. Most football prospects probably come from Liberal households.
Does that affect their recruiting....in a negative way?
They had a huge crowd supporting a conservative VP, who is the perceived evil tyrant's closest confidant? How does that resinate? Something to consider.
Blow it out your ***. No kids have gone hungry in this country in decades due to lack of resources. The only way a child is hungry in the USA is due to parental/guardian neglect or abuse. The avg SNAP recipients I see can easily fast 30 days and still be morbidly obese. And it is the idiot Democrats keeping the gov't closed.Hosting a rally celebrating the second in command of the regime that is about to cause kids to go hungry because they don't want to follow through with the biggest campaign promise that regime had because that's the mechanism they have to block someone being rightfully elected by the people (37 days now for AZ-07 btw) is NOT the side of history we want to be on.
I mean guys. The Rebels lost the civil war. Is it any shock what horse they're backing here. Do we want to back that one, too? Hell ******* no.
