We’re not even in the same realm, with our value for our other sports coaches, with regards to the same comparison to their respective peers. I grew up hearing the two universities referred to as State and Ole Miss. Mississippi State was just not referred to. I grew up in a "State" family. I think the "State" script is the best logo we have ever had.

He has a few cohorts, maybe 10-15 on the board that also feel the need to tell State donors what and how they should spend "their" money. The banner M is embarrassing logo. Interlocking and/or M over S should be the official logos. The rest are not historical. Script is acceptable as a secondary or tertiary logo on uniforms and apparel. It should not be on our helmets, hats, etc.

The LSU’s and USC’s of the world as you mention have a fantastic tradition for every sport. Think more like a Duke ect. Their D’s, fonts, logos ect are all shared by football, baseball, and basketball. Basketball takes the lead on the merch as the marketing leader, even though the merch can represent ALL. That’s what I’m talking about with our baseball program. We are not LSU or USC. But comparatively speaking we can be more like Duke in this regard, with our baseball equaling their basketball program.

It is NO way a bust!! It absolutely identifies us as Mississippi State University, universally. If you want something that's a bust, it's that script "State." Talk about something that took ZERO imagination, that's it. I would take the M over S in a heartbeat over that script State. Also, under the last baseball administration, our softball program was refused the use of the M over S on their uniforms. I hope BOC has the good sense to change that and allow softball to use the M over S.
