14-13 murphy. I tell you..swain eats the clock up with that veer but murphy just scores quick. About 5 mins left in 2nd quarter.
Swain just pounding that dline Of murphy. Just ramming it right now down their throats. That defense needs to step up. Swain Up 20-14 with 2 mins to go in the 2nd. (That missed extra point on the first touchdown could become costly if this game is still close at the end)
Murphy again scores quick. Seems swain can’t stop Murphy’s run or passing game as murphy has about 120 yards passing and 100 yards rushing and swain has 190 yards rushing about about 10 yards passing. Swain blocked the extra point so score is tied 20-20 with about 43 seconds to go. Swain ball at the swain 43 yard line.
Swain got the ball in second half, drove down and scored. Missed the extra point though. 26-20 swain
And just like that, Murphy scores quick in 4 plays. Run of about 50 yards. Extra point good. Murphy up 27-26.
these refs are throwing a flag on murphy every other play. It’s crazy. 11 flags already for over 125 yards. Def has helped swain because swain has stalled on this drive and the flags has helped them here. 3rd and goal for swain on the 6yd Line.
Swain kicks field goal. 29-27 swain. This game is just crazy with the amount of flags that had been thrown. Sometimes you just need to let them play.
So a crazy situation. Murphy was driving and Murphy fumbles at the swain 30 yard line, a murphy player picks it up and then runs the wrong way and he is tackled by his own teammate at their own 5 yard line. A loss of 60 yards. So murphy had to punt with 4th and 72. Yeah..murphy just shot their selves with this one. To many penalties and turnovers. Swain now has it and converted a 4th and 2. About 2 and a half mins to go with swain up 29-27.
4th down and short. This is for the ball game right here pretty much. Swain converts and it’s over.
Fumble on the play. Swain recovered. First down and dogs can’t stop the clock. Swain wins 29-27. What a game. Murphy lost that one with the penalties. 16 penalties I think for over 150 yards.
No they didn't, Murphy lost that with the same weak as water defense that has shown up for the last month. Unless something drastic happens defensively this team won't sniff a state title.
Never seen that happen live before. That kind of gift doesn't fall into your lap more than once a century or so. And Swain took advantage.
Murphy has a potent offense, and Curry is an amazing passer. And #54 is huge on defense... by far their best defensive player, all over the field and stopped a lot of potential big plays cold. Other than that, though, Murphy's D leaves a lot to be desired this year.

And they have Cherokee @ Cherokee coming in 2 weeks.

Hard to tell in high school. Unless you're head and shoulders better than the opposition (and sometimes even if you are), a fired-up opponent can make your life miserable for a night.
Makes me wonder what happened to Swain the night they played Cherokee. Yeah, the Braves were the better team... but not THAT much better. And Mintz could do no wrong that night.
