They are playing Asheville School, which is the co-ed boarding school across from Lowe's in West Asheville. They made the private school state finals in 2011, but Christ School (all boys school near the airport) has really emerged as the best WNC private school team since then, finishing runner up in '12, '15 and '16. Asheville School was about .500 last year and is 2-0 so far this year...I would expect them to be about Rabun Gap's level.

How's Robbinsville this year? They were hardnosed for a long time but last year they looked soft. Is it just because they were young last year?

No we just had some kids that didnt care last year. We underachieved. Most are gone now. We have alot of sophmores this year but we are much better this year.


Ok so rabun wins 70% of the time.

Observe bk doesn't deal in facts lol. Some of our boys said Asheville school is huge at skill positions. 6'6 qb 6'4 rec 6'3 rec 6'3 rec and they throw it a lot. That's all I know about them this year. So who knows

Murphy will still be the team to beat in the SMC next year on paper, with or without a QB transfer. Swain and Robbinsville lose a lot of seniors after this season, Murphy does too but the Bulldogs current junior class is several cuts above the rest of the conferences juniors. If no QB comes in, then it will be a much tighter conference race in 2018 than it was last year or will be this year

2019 should be very interesting, Swain is likely to be the favorite that year, with Murphy and Robbinsville in the mix. 2020 will be all Swain I think.
