Let's see....it's not a distraction, except for when it distracts us. Man, you would have to be crazy to think all the crap going on with AK wasn't a distraction. Can't wait to hear your defense of AK-Gate now Bruiser."I don't think it's a distraction for us at all," Holloway said.</p>
White agreed, but also said that he could tell things were weighing on Kennedy's mind and the coach looked tired. Saturday's brutal loss certainly couldn't have helped.</p>
"His attitude toward the game is the same, <span style="font-weight: bold;">but you can tell he's changed," White said. "Just the way he talks to us."</span></p>
And if you can't understand that your bball program has a bigger issues than three knee injuries, then I can't help you. Keep the blinders on OM....keep 'em on.For example.... if Varnardo, Raven Johnson and your point guard all were out for the season.... how good would the Bulldogs be this year?
If you can't understand that, I can't help you.

In case you've been on another planet..... our three best players are out for the year with knee injuries. If you took the best three off of any team in America, very few would be very good at all.

With Gaskins, Warren and Polynice, I think OM would have won twelve SEC games this year and won the West. Take one of those away and OM would have still been solid. Take all three away and I think we'll go about 3-13 in the SEC.
The entire team returns next year, and the three best players will rejoin their team mates.
Good luck to the Dogs this year! You guys are really playing well!

RebelBruiser said:Our basketball season is over. As I've said before, the rest of our season this year is just a set of glorified scrimmages to try to get our freshmen ready for next year.
I actually went to the game yesterday, and I can say that the team just didn't look like they wanted to play. Not sure what it was, but they just were not all there. When you're playing as many young guys as we are though, you're going to have days like that, and you're going to have days where they surprise you and look good.
Again though, it's not about wins and losses this year. It's about developing players for next year. Any wins we get are gravy.

A lot of it is the inconsistency youth brings. Another big part of it is they are playing for a lame duck coach. How this clown is coaching that team right now is one of the biggest head scratchers I've ever seen in college sports.

Have you spoken with Pete Boone? Reason I ask is I have a family member that speaks with him fairly regularly, and he's said nothing to indicate that Kennedy won't be back next year. I'm just curious where you're getting the lame duck idea.
You don't know? Really? I mean could it be.. just maybe...just maaaaaaayyyyyybe.. that Kennedy's actions in Cincinnati and the charges, arrest, lawsuits, countersuits, amendments to lawsuits, and negative attention at every turn could somehow.. in some way.. be related to the performance of the staff and team as a whole? I mean i'm really going out on a limb here.RebelBruiser said:I actually went to the game yesterday, and I can say that the team just didn't look like they wanted to play. Not sure what it was,

The IF game is fun but it doesn't really mean ****, does it?
So when basketball sucks you are a football school? You know the fans seemed to have really loved the basketball team a ton these last few years as AK was getting ready to fly by Stansbury as top coach in the state of Mississippi. I just don't get this "we are a football school"mentality Ole Miss has. First of all your football team really hasnt been relevant since the 60's on a consistent basis, and is the fan base to simple minded to follow all of your sports? That saying is about as fair weathered as it gets. I want State good at everything every yearRebelBruiser said:if you haven't noticed. That doesn't mean we don't want to win at everything. It just means that our fans care a whole lot more about doing well in football than they do other sports. And especially with this year, the injuries have all but ended our basketball season. Our top 3 options at PG all went down in the same year. If they were at other positions, we'd have a chance to compete, but we don't have a true PG, and we generally are playing at least 2, usually 3 true freshmen at all times on the floor. We're not going to win many games. We understand that, and when you understand that there is basically little that can be done, it doesn't bother you all that much.
We return everybody except Brian Johnson (in other words, we return everybody). And we're playing as many true freshmens as anyone in the league. Sure your freshmens should be better players next year, but so will ours.RebelBruiser said:I still think we should be in the NCAA tourney next year, and we will be one of the favorites in the West.
I agree, but I can assure you that if we were in a bowl game thius year, and turned around and sucked it up in basketball I would not be on here saying I don't care as long as we are good in football. That is just stupid. When football season is over it is time to move on to basketball. Of course unless you are Ole Miss and the basketball team isn't doing good.RebelBruiser said:Maybe your definition of football school is different from mine, but to me every school in the SEC except Vandy and Kentucky are football schools. The fans care the most about football, want to win the most at football, etc. A good example are the many threads on here about football assistant coaches, football recruiting, Mullen, etc.
I am gueesing this is either Mississippi Kite from the spirit? or maybe Vampirereb? Damn you are an idiotDestinBob said:We certainly did pass AU and Tennessee this year. Not just a one year fluke.... look at all of the preseason rankings for next year, where we are anywhere from #4 to #6. I don't see either of those two schools anywhere close to that.
Next year we will have our three best basketball players back.... Andy will be totally vindicated in libelous and false claims of the cab driver..... and we WILL be the top basketball program in this state..... just like we are in ALL of the major sports.
In basketball you only have five starters. In football there are 22. You act like you didn't know the difference, so I thought I should point it out. So when you lose your three best players in basketball.... that is 60% of your starters.merkin2 said:You are a loser. That same analogy could have been thrown out by us during Football losing Brown,Johnson,Chaney ,Elliot and Green. But no way in Hell our Fanbase would listen and damn sure Ole Miss did not want to hear that excuse for our problems. EAT ****
So now Ole Miss is as young as were are? Then how is it the great AK can't keep up with "The Recruiter"DestinBob said:In basketball you only have five starters. In football there are 22. It would be like losing 13 starters for the season in football.
You really don't even have an argument.... that's why you can only say things like "Eat ****".
Very classy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
